RESOLVED [YLD-32158] Logged in... and lost all progress including ship

Possible path of looking for a solution to this issue: Notice that ships tend to "drift" from their mooring position between sessions. If you moor a ship close to a pier or a land based dock, they "drift" further out to sea a bit when you return to the game. Its like there is a limit as to how close to the edge of the ocean a ship can be to "spawn" in on log in. I was contacted directly by another player who encountered a similar situation to mine. He moored his ship close to the shore in a small inlet.... there was a flat beach alongside. Upon re- joining the game, with his avatar inside the ship cabin, - he experienced a bouncing effect with his avatar bouncing in and out of the ship as it bounced... similar to what i experienced. When he tried to move he "fell" through the ships hull onto the beach and saw his ship bouncing up and down over the flat sandy beach. He managed to unsummon his ship ..... then summon it back into deeper water away form the shore. In my case, i had moored the ship adjacent to a sandy hill ...which was taller than my ship. I now suspect that my ship position "drifted" when offline and tried to respawn on top of that hill .... sending it skywards. That would explain the "i am freezing " message and aerial view of just clouds. When i pressed "w" i fell through the ships hull to the beach ... possibly perishing in the process and out of reach of that ship that's possibly still there .... " over the rainbow, way up high!" :-? and in some sort of region limbo When i re-join, i appear on the hillside near where the ship was, and for a few seconds i get a ghosted " loading wheel" briefly. So could this be of assistance as to what's happening/or happened here? -
Some time ago, during the echo chamber era ...the period of the great silence ... i made the comment that after the enthusiasm of announcing Tencent involvement, we suddenly get mobile based mini games ( very popular in Asia) ..and a new Asian Biome ..(which looks great). But exploration was forgotten. The PVE players were forgotten. A group of us felt like we were un-paid game testers, as every time we played, the game would crash and we sent in bug report and output logs. Some of us spent more time waiting to log in or sending in output logs that we spent actually in game. ( if we got in and didn't get kicked out after 10 minutes Thankfully Adam arrived and he listened to our pleas to get the game playable ... but did they listen to him? It was obvious to some of us that Tencent was funding Ylands ... because as the saying goes " He who pays the piper, gets their tune played". and what we were hearing ( when something was done) was not music to the regular players ears. I stuck with Ylands because of P1 and Red ... we had a community that was initially working to help Bi develop the game, with scripting enhancements and suggestions that made the game playable and a community that interacted. Suddenly the rules changed after tencent partnership was announced .... the servers changed, other things changed, and all the coding work was tossed out and those who worked their butts off trying to help were literally ignored. And so were the players. The exodus began. and is still going on. We would send in log /bug reports and there was not even acknowledgement. And i found out as soon as i posted here a positive criticism designed to highlight an area of needed improvement , my posts were literally pushed off the front page by a orchestrated wave of "fan-boi" postings waxing lyrical about the mobiles or mini games .. It was obvious they didn't want people to see any criticism... even though it was intended to be helpful in fixing something important. Will i stay with Ylands? Its basically a good game in concept but rather than fixing what they have got, there's still talk of adding mythical new shiny things. Guys... all you are doing is adding pretty flags and shiny decals to a car that's got no wheels and a broken engine. I play Ylands as i have an old computer... and its capable of running the game , but not powerful enough to run other games ...like Journey of Life, Subsistence, etc. I am saving up for a new computer, an i7 with the top NVidia graphics card. When that arrives ... Ylands will be collecting dust on a shelf along with the original sims, donkey kong, ... Unless the game improves... but i am not holding up hopes from what i hear ...and see at the moment. PS Just saw Bojo's post ..agree 100% We didn't buy this game to fight boss monster, level up etc ...we bought it based on the original road map . look at he original log in screen and see what we expected. If you want to bring the players back, bring the original concept back. But it may be too late.

Any update or acknowledgement on this "bug" or feature? ..if our traders are going to disappear on us and we cannot trade for certain hard to find items / ores , well why not bring back the random encounter ones? -

the new vendors from the vendor banner. The pigeon post is still there...and so is just one vendor ... all the others simply vanished ...abducted by aliens? -
This "being offended" reminds me of the story of the 90 year old woman with a walker checking into a hotel , then ringing up the reception with a complaint 30 minutes later. She complained when she looked out her window she could see a naked couple... The manager went up to investigate ..and looked out the window ...all he saw was a fence . Then the old woman said " you have to jump up and down on the bed , when you jump high enough you can see over the fence and into the bedroom of the neighboring unit...:"

Whats annoying are the anti-vaxxers spreading conspiracy tales and false stories ... like the vaccine causes sterility, it alters your DNA , and (believe it or not) it makes you susceptible to effects of radiation from 5G phone towers... ;0 Next they will say it will attract aliens to abduct you... -

where i am there's been 40 days now without a new infection recorded ... and vaccine rollouts started . There was a cartoon showing two dogs talking...one was asking "why are humans wearing muzzles?" the other relied " because they cannot sit and stay" -

Received a small update ...cannot log in as i get "incompatible game version" message. Was working ok before the update. logs atached output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt

ok tried that ...one file failed to validate and is being re-acquired ...fingers crossed that this is it ;0 tried again ...same error message... re validated files ....got an ok ...restarted steam ...still no go. Another player reported in discord that they had the same issue.

I tried a restart ...no change ... so i did a complete shutdown ... took a "comfort" break and did a cold start. Got a message 'updating steam' which looked promising ... but tried to log into game ...same message. I have heard i am not the only one finding this.

i operate through steam ..i have tried 15 times today and get the same message .. will try again now .. done ... ..same message .. checked for steam updates ..says i have the latest version. Ylands version is 1.5.1.102629

looks like hotfix fixed more that it was supposed ...now cannot log in "incompatible game error" message . I am not alone... the truth is out there ;0

The water has frozen ...no movement ...and observed by all 4 players on the server came back ..only one on server and still frozen ...no movement Logs attached output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt

I logged in 3 times today and water still has no animation on the P1 server... sailing, there is no bow wake . I travelled to another mp game and lo and behold ..water was working.... bow wake and ship moved accordingly. returned to the P1 Pt2 server ..and ...yup... water had no animation. The ship jumped around and stuttered. you already have the logs -

did some experimenting ..it might be an issue with that block ( asset) .. i constructed a row of small windows along the top and then the block would fit in underneath them . but they would only fit in where the windows were . screenshot attached -

same frustrating problem encountered here ship is in construction mode ... some blocks placed ok then suddenly it went haywire. screenshots and logs attached the alert message visible in 2 of the screenshots output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt -

Surfs still not up .. went in last night ..only one on server stationary waves .... went in about an hour ago ... same ... logs attached noted: when someone arrives on server massive lag spike ... believe other lag spikes might be from players unsuccessfully trying to access the island without a password or dlc.. output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt -
I have encountered it too ..it seems to be associated with that style of wooden door. it might also be related to the physics of climbing a ramp in front of the door.

extra tiered island for extra things..

Perhaps also a special "green" island being a generic spawn arrival point ...one in each biome . ...would have rapid respawning of useful non predators, also non build ... and with an instruction area where new arrivals totally new could perhaps learn a little basics. Also make objects indestructible against the usual script kiddies griefer attacks
