Character Creation: show default clothing?
Dustin Michael replied to aduffelbagofnightmares's topic in General Discussion
Maybe that is for if you buy skins you can start a save with them on and the default clothing is just what you normally would have spawned with.. Just an idea.. Shot in the dark. Probally wrong -
I tried making two saves with the same island names and I got two different biomes. Didn't work for me but I am quite pleased with my I would say 7th save. I then just erased the progress on a couple of them and it gave me the full maps as the continue picture instead of my character. Was nice to see how many islands the save has and where they are all at.

[SPOILER ALERT] Numbers on ship sails and engines
Dustin Michael replied to WijkagentAdrie's topic in General Discussion
Amazing! Thank you -
Ya I think it has to do with buying the game early. I saw someone with only 1 reputation point that has it.
-
be warned make sure you only do it on a new save. It is only working for me when I go to game options and erase my progress. Some people it erases their save all together. So only do it on new saves. Some people says it works for them others say it doesn't. Here is a little 1 mintue video showing how it works for me.

How did you get that ribbon in your profile? Is that for buying the game before the steam release?

How many islands can you find in a single game?
Dustin Michael replied to marcosgijon's topic in General Discussion
This can only be done at the beginning of a save. Once you start a new save and go into the island leave right away. Then when you go to continue it should show a map of your save instead of the character. If it doesn't show erase your progress out of that save, and since you didn't do anything erasing nothing is fine. When you do that the map will show as your save. Screen shot that then go in the game. Explore your island you are on and get the shape of it. From there point out the island you are on in the big map like this and now you know where you are and where every island is on your save. -
I got a lot of my islands charted and found but the unzoom of the map as it is does not go that far. I would like to see a full unzoom where I can see every island I have been on instead of scrolling all over my map. Will make it easier when you are traveling to farther away islands. Just an idea. See here on my continue screen I can see where all my islands are at here but having this with the map ingame would be amzaing. Of course it should only show the islands you have explored or found.

Had no idea about this! Thank you

Gonna have to give this a try! Thanks!

Each large mast gives 100% speed, each small mast gives 60% speed. The maximum amount on a large ship is 550%, the maximum amount on a small ship is 450% So on a large ship, 5 large masts + 1 small masts (560% total) is the max, on the small ship 4 large masts + 1 small mast (460%) is the maximum! The direction of placement doesn't matter. -- Copy and pasted it from an older thread.

Did you guys make the master tools obsolete as well?

Found this, THese are the correct numbers.. I was close

I would love to be able to name islands and mark where I have found some of the rarer ores. Also mark where caves are and if I find something in the sea like treasure to mark that for when I get my under water breathing thing and come back.

Keep those light bulbs and make a flashlight. With that flashlight make a miners helmet. I wear that at all times at night cause it illumes everything you are looking at and can't imagine going into mines without it. Unlike a lantern you don't have to have it in your hand for it to work

Here are 3 saves I have that show where the islands are at. All either have 10 or 12. That is mostly all I have found. They say there is 8 but I haven't found a layout yet that has only 8. -
go to the ylands wiki and it should show you everything you need to make stuff. Just search for what you are trying to make Ylands Wiki Page

I don't know the exact numbers but sailing is ranked on a 500 scale. Main sails give you something like 100-125 and small sail about 50-75. Keep adding sails and your number will go up trying to hit the maximum speed of 500. I don't know what the engines give you. These numbers might be off but it is how the speed vs what equipment you have on your boat.

F10 is force save. I usually do this before I go into mines. If I die I just Ctl,Alt,Delete out of the game and come back in where I did the hard save.
-
Just mine in stone deposits. They should come out in stone chunks. Go to the higher elevations and mine in the mountains.

Drop everything by default when dragging
Dustin Michael replied to InvictusESP's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't mind the way it is now but your suggestion would definaly make it better. -
I can bounce from island to island in about 3-5 minutes. I think that is plenty fast. I have a 3 sails on my main ship.
-
You got to smak the hell out of the steering wheel. Like 100 times for it to break.
-
restart the game and they will be there.
-
This will give you an idea how close islands are to each other. With a ship that has 2 large sails and a normal one I can bounce for island to island that are close to each other in about 5 minutes. All Maps are different but they all will fit in this same rectangle.
