so found a new bug with the stone pick. I use it often but did something different on this online server. I used a basic repair kit on it. After repairing it the first time, it broke after using it, but after it broke i kept on digging. without having my dig button pressed or the animation for digging for my player. I continued to keep digging with the broken pick, but it showed me just standing there. if i walked around i would still keep digging. it stopped once i switch to a different tool. After repairing the stone pick the second time, i though maybe itll happen again once it broken. And you know what it did. but this time i had a screen freeze and that stopped my digging. This is the first time i used a basic repair kit on the stone pick. next server i join I will try to recreate this. that wont be till i crush, kill, and destory everyone and everything on this server. or i get stuck in another boat Im friendly i swear !Update! so after killing some random person and stealing their basic repair kits i repaired my broken stone pick. I was able to finish my starter cave with this bug, My pick broke once again for the 3rd time from repairing it, and i kept on digging. Felt like the energizer bunny. still on the same server. still using the same pick, next time i will make a new one and repair it after it breaks, !Update Update! so made a new stone pick and broke it for the first time, kept on digging even without having to repair it. so im no longer 100% certain the basic repair kit did anything. and if it did, it started it as thats the only difference i did with the pick. playing on someones server so not sure how the save file thing works

look up building plans and use that

have you looked up in the sky?

if you don't have the recipe showing up, you may be missing an ingredient. have you gotten all the fish guts?

iv had a boat with well over a few tens of thousand pieces, its only takes a few seconds to load in. but once its loaded never had performance issues

im not as lucky searching in the temprate after artic. still yet to find any of this rare item, cleaned out a few forests and swam from many sharks

thats a pretty sweet build. mine looks like a brick compared to that.. i have done alot of free placing on ships before and havent noticed any issues. just a bit of lag when the ship loads in, but thats only a quick pause

its a good thing the points are easy to obtain if you go to new islands often. once spent, they are gone. the reset game is a good refresher but getting all the recipes back is a task in on its own

if you have a propeller pack you can retrieve from the volcano, I also died there and got my stuff back. otherwise youll have to reset to get that cogwheel

Yes the ships are like glass. as annoying as transporting a car is currently. its a one map, one island type of vehicle, unless you build tunnels to other islands to drive in. but thats a full time job with the island distances and limited digging options. iv builts trucks that haul tons of stone or a recharge truck so i can keep drilling. but that was before my reset on 1.9 you can make a truck bed and just drop the item on it. no need to make storage. The large car frame can fit a recharger on it and a small yland generator. the explosives keg makes a nice perfect round tunnel large enough to drive in. and even big enough to add a road the same with the dynamite bundle which is slightly cheaper last i checked

i have yet to find this goo myself, but i also never went looking for it. not even sure what its for to busy trying to find components that i never can find

I use to use this strategy as well. would have to make an underground garden to be able to survive after hiding your entrance with some snow. i would sometimes go off from the polar islands out of render and make a small island with a tunnel cause you couldn't unsummon your boat to hide it. every so often you would find someone who came up and froze and their boat crashed into the island.

to much to just resummon ship orientated the right direction?

never wanted to waste the protective barrier at the start, so trying to hide your base underground was always the best method. I would usually plant trees and bushes around my entrance area to try and hide it better. plus it would always be a worry when someone comes and steals your stuff cause it wasn't in your one and only single protective barrier

talk about blast from the past with your screenshots. !! when has there not been some sort of underground digging. that was always a favorite things of Ylands. The digging Though early yland days it was easy to find tunnels with firstperson

After doing a wipe and restarting for the update, im finding the fastest boat foundation ( steam boat) to costly to maintain now. it seems iron is less abundant, but maybe its my luck. with all the boat platforms at least taking nails. Im starting to think the catamaran may be the new fastest but most affordable. cause when you cant afford to repair your ship its debuffed on speed and goes less then half its top speed. (Correct me if im wrong) Its not as easy to make a massive yatch that has everything. Need more fish guts! Atleast when your boat sinks. you dont loose anything, other then repair resources. it will respawn in like 30 seconds

So sharks. they're back! and more dangerous as ever. I have yet to find a way to fight back at them and eat their meat. Is there a weapon to use in the water? Cant even use the Atlantean crossbow or sword in the water which I found there Sea devils. I have come across them in only one location so far. does anyone want to share to location they found the sea slug? im guessing it will be the shallower bios as thats where Iv gotten lucky so far.

being able to edit an island or "map" would be very cool for exploration, doesnt mean you need to be able to edit items. Just terraforming with foliage. cause terraforming and digging underground cities with a single drill can feel like work

from what i know in exploration mode, nothing can be spawned in. only crafted you can join a MP season in exploration by not joining the blue single player islands, but it is random depending how many other peoples islands are in the bio that have set it to online

ya I feel this. My boats usually require a few ten of thousands of stone to blueprint. But if you build it slowly free hand. it only requires some shoveling

this cant be done for exploration
