  1. Is this still happening? Is it possible this could be: https://ylands.com/community/topic/25476-yld-18636-ylands-dedicated-server-endless-establishing-connection/ And is it still happening?
  2. I will be merging this with YLD-18636
  3. Right, we're looking into it. Seems that repairing the previous YLD-18419 didn't have the effect we hoped for ?

UNDER REVIEW [YLD-18408] Friends list bug

I've moved this issue up the ladder of importance and hopefully, we'll get it fixed ASAP. Thank you for the logs.
  5. Hi. It seems more people are having this issue. I am going to merge them all together, so they're in the same place. https://ylands.com/community/topic/25476-ylands-dedicated-server-endless-establishing-connection/
  6. This is absolutely bonkers ? We're going to try and replicate it and see, what it is that happened.

    Dev Diary #94

Hey there Ylanders! As you might have noticed, a new update is out: Playful Platform! Now, what happens next? Well if you haven’t checked out the changelog, I’d recommend you do so because there is some exciting stuff in there. And while the team is preparing a 'professional' and 'informative' video about the update, I couldn't wait and made my own teaser trailer...with the help of Prokop ? So check that out on Facebook ? https://www.facebook.com/YlandsGame/ But most of all lookout for the big Dev Diary video that’ll be ready for you on Monday. There’ll also be a micro-site dedicated to the update going live also on Monday, which will definitely help you explore the scope of this update. There were so many moving parts with the update and we wanted to bring it to you as soon as possible, that some aspects of the reveal fell behind a bit, but they’ll be ready for you on Monday ? While you wait, keep us updated, what you’re liking about the update, what irks you and what doesn’t work, so we can include it in our closest hotfix. And what happens after update 0.14? Well, we start preparing update 0.15 ? This one will be all about fixing and optimizing all aspects of the game. We’ll be doubling down to get Ylands ready for the final release, so it’s the best game it can be. And that’s all for now, so have fun with the new update and… stay classy Ylanders!

    Between 2 games...

    I'm sure that's the reason ?

Ah, one of those silent disco's I've been hearing so much about ? And I see you got to play with some of our testers! They never want to play with me ?

    0.14: Playful Platform (05/09/2019)

Right, we might be all talking about different stuff ? I'll get Aleš to have a look into this to see, if we can figure out what's wrong ?

    Contest Screenshot Contest Week 4

Thanks for the funny photos! I'm sure the judges will have lot's of fun choosing the winner, so look out for that on Sunday ?

    Contest Screenshot Contest Week 4

Again big congratulations to @zarwil but there were others, that were absolutely fantastic too! And the runner-ups this week are: @Spyler.X and his Egyptian adventure (Death on the Nile?) @Christalle with her stunning discovery (love the Top Hat) And finally @Indomitus! Isn't all art first of all relatable? But these weren't the only good screenshots, all submitted were absolutely gorgeous and we thank you so much for submitting them. And now for next weeks competition: with all the talk of bugs and how we fight them, let's also acknowledge the good they do...they sometimes make us laugh ? So this weeks theme will be Funny Bugs. Send us your funniest bugs that happened to you for a chance to win a pile of Coyns ? And as always you have till Friday 10am to submit your screenshots either here or on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtags #pycs and #Ylandspycs So good luck, happy screenshotting and stay classy Ylanders!
  13. Any specific situation? I have the output_logs, but a bit of explanation would go a long way ?

    0.14: Playful Platform (05/09/2019)

If you have 'Universal' mode ticked off (which is done automatically and means that in the future this map will be accessible to mobile players) you can't place logics outside of the green box. If you untick it or keep it inside, it should be fine. Unfortunately, because of server availability, we have to restrict it to five-players only games ? Hopefully the public Playlands will fill up soon and there should be players to play with. And maybe a forum topic about this would be fun for people to meet up and plan some mini-game fun ? (I'd definitely jump in ?) Well If you don't crash into any rocks ? And sharks are in for a rework ? The mobile version for iOS and Android will be free to download, but you won't be able to create in this version, just 'consume' the games created ?

    RESOLVED [YLD-18598] Loading trouble

Sure stuff and I welcome it ? Helps me and helps us to fix the things necessary to fix and get this magnificent game ready for the final release ? We are in this together after all, not against each other ?

    UNDER REVIEW [YLD-18250] Can't Unban, Can't respawn

The team knows about this issue, but can't reproduce it. Could your Texan friend send over the save file of this game, so they can have a look into it properly?
  17. Adam Snellgrove

    RESOLVED [YLD-18598] Loading trouble

Could you please try again tomorrow (06.09), if you still have these issues, and if so, I'll try and fast track a hotfix on this.

    RESOLVED [YLD-18598] Loading trouble

Good to know, I'll update the issue on our end and specify, that it is a problem primarily of the NA1 server.
  19. I've moved the issue here: https://ylands.com/community/topic/25386-yld-18598-loading-trouble/?page=0#comment-78590
  20. This sounds serious. Please also make a topic for this. I'll ask around what could be the problem and try to get a fix ASAP.

UNDER REVIEW [YLD-18596] Sailing issues ...

We're checking it out and I'll keep you updated.
  22. I'll look into it kimbuck ? If you do, it'd help us get rid of the problem. This is still an Early Access game and some stuff isn't finished or isn't working, but we're working on it and especially after 0.14 (which will be very soon), we'll be directing all our manpower on bugs and server issues. We are at the finishing straight and if we manage to catch all things buggy and fix them, I believe you'll find it in your heart to love Ylands once more ? If you could make a topic of this issue and tell us, what's wrong and maybe attach the output_logs, we'll get right on it.
  23. Adam Snellgrove

    Possible Issue

Or when it happens again, send us your friends output_logs and we'll hopefully be able to locate the problem.

    Interview Ynterview #3 - Dan

Every week we'll bring you an Ynterview with a member of our Ylands team. In this week's Ynterview we have approached our UI programmer Daniel Janák. First off, what do you do here at the Ylands team and what’d you do before you joined? Well, I'm taking care of the whole Ylands UI. I started my career as a UI programmer and that's what I did before I joined the Ylands team as well. How long have you worked on Ylands? What was the 1st thing you worked on when you joined? I've been here for a year and a half now. Wow. There were many things in parallel that I did when I started here. But apart for creating a new UI management system that supports animations and plug'n'play features for our UI, the first visible thing I did was a revamp of the Editor UI. What do you find most exciting on Ylands in general? I love creative game elements where I can control many aspects of the gameplay. Especially the building gameplay. I loved playing with LEGOs as a kid. To create, destroy, dramatize things. I might also have a severe God complex, to be honest ? And what is for you the most exciting feature coming in the new 0.14 update? That'll be our new UI Editor. I think it's the most complex thing I've created in terms of UI management. We brought a lot of engine features right to the player through our game. And I loved programming it as well as being a part of its design. What are you working on right now? Well, right now, we're polishing things before the update so there's a lot of small things and attention to detail. Fixing some visual inconsistencies, etc. What do you do in your free time? I'm trying to sort my social life. Nah, just kidding. Devs don't have social lives. No, but seriously, I'm happy to be in a state where I can just go for a beer with my friends, go watch a movie, or just read a book. I do enjoy swimming and parkour. Although not as much as before. I also experiment with some game prototypes of my own, trying to learn new things, designs, etc. And of course, going for a walk with my beautiful pit bull who you might have seen on Yland's Instagram account. If you had to choose just one mode of transport, would it be the pogo stick, ostrich or rocket rollerblades? Well, I’d like to live to see another day so I'd say none of those. Especially here in Prague. Although an ostrich would be cool. But I couldn't bear staring into those cold soulless eyes and not thinking of 36 different ways the ostrich surely wants to murder me in my sleep. Well, there you have it. And if you missed our 'bonus question', visit our Facebook page ?

    Dev Diary #93

Olá Ylanders! We are nearing the big update 0.14. and all of us here are very excited for all the cool new features coming to Ylands. But you have (and quite rightly so) voiced your concern about still existing bugs and new bugs, that could potentially come with 0.14. and what is being done about them? I know that in the past it could’ve seemed nothing is being done about bugs and other problems, but that was more down to a failure to communicate with you, the community. That is why we want to share with you our plan into the future concerning this. Update 0.14. is the last update before release, that’s going to be “feature-heavy”. After its release, all our manpower and resources will go predominantly into polishing up the game and fixing, what needs fixing. Especially update 0.15. should be full of fixes, that some of you were waiting for quite some time. Many of the bugs you reported are being worked on even though it wasn’t acknowledged on the forums and many more have gone into the process of being fixed in the last couple of weeks. And while bug fixing wasn’t a complete priority in the past, this was due to trying to put all the features in first and then fixing all the problems connected to them, so nothing new messes with the final product. But now it will become a priority and we’ll do our utmost to get everything ready for the planned release later this year. So keep reporting those bugs, especially after 0.14, because we’ll be on a crusade to fix them all ? And don’t forget those output_logs, because they really make it much easier to quickly identify the problem and fixing it. We’ll also come up with a way to thank the most dedicated bug hunters in the future, so look out for that too ? One of these bugs was for instance YLD-18419. The community reported, that they were having trouble connecting to dedicated servers and that an “Unspecified Error” kept popping up. First we thought, it would be a backend error, but after some more digging and after studying the output_logs it became clear, something was wrong with the game code. After that our programmers' dove in and found the miscreant and fixed the problem. Yesterday it was tested and given the green light and so this bug is now ready to be fixed in the upcoming 0.14 update. Now one of the big ones is, of course, the problem with the servers and their short life-span. This is connected to lag, slow down of game after a period of time playing (especially in multiplayer) and sometimes it affects even script. This all is down to the optimization of the core system. Our programmers are coming up every day with ways of rectifying this and we are looking for the right solution. Especially after 0.14 this will be the highest priority and some improvement could be present in 0.15 though hopefully even after that we’ll be able to even further improve the performance of the servers. So in conclusion, we are working on all the issues reported but had trouble communicating this in the past. After update 0.14 we’ll be focusing all our efforts on polishing up and repairing the game. Send in bugs and output_logs, it helps us a great deal. And problems with servers are very high on our to-do list. So stay strong and mainly stay classy Ylanders!
