Hi, No this means that the trainers would sell them. Plus dungeons would generate Exploration Points, not caves. -
Hey there, fellow Ylanders! Some time ago, we discussed the improvements to the crafting UI which should make the crafting easier and more user-friendly. Crafting, however, is not only about the interface, but also the actual recipes. And that's what we would like to talk about today. For quite some time, all the recipes, both "core" and "extra" (let's call them "aesthetic"), have been available to players to open right from the start of the game. You picked a few objects, and BOOM, you could suddenly craft a hundred objects more. Not only was this massively overwhelming, but also getting those aesthetic recipes without any effort made them feel cheap and took away the joy of having those. So what we did was remove those from the commonly accessible recipes and players were able to learn those by exploring various Random Encounters. In hindsight, we think that making the aesthetic recipes harder to get was a good decision, however, from the feedback we received, it is obvious that this system doesn't work well for those who are looking to find a specific recipe (or more of them). Today, we would like to share with you an idea that we're currently discussing. We're thinking about introducing trainers, which would offer to teach you various aesthetic recipes in exchange for Exploration Points. Not only will players get the Points from discovering Random Encounters but, newly, also by completing dungeons (which are coming soon). In general, we believe this will make the system more intuitive, predictable and rewarding. So, what do you think? Would you like to have an option to get recipes you need in exchange for something you gather by exploration or fighting? That's it for today and we'll talk to you again in a week. Hey there, fellow Ylanders! One of the things you've been asking for on forums is a way to send gifts to your friends. Maybe you have coyns you have no use for or you simply want to make your friend happy (because one needs no reason to make friends happy, right? 😊 ). Most of the time, you asked about gifting the Exploration Pack so that your friends can play with you. Even though we're making some changes for Update 1.11 so that those without the Exploration Pack will get more kick out of the game (more about that later), the Exploration Pack will always be the core, the most interesting game functionality. So whether you'd like to have your friend join you on an expedition across the vast arctic plains or help you build a nice house in the taiga, we got you covered, because starting with 1.11 you will be able to buy your friends the Exploration Pack with coyns. But there's more! Actually, you will be able to gift anyone most of the things available in the shop. Remember - nothing says "I bought you a cool flying pig" better than buying someone a cool flying pig! The next update will bring more than this suggestion to life, but we'll talk about the rest some other time. Until then - Stay classy!

Hello Ylanders, 🌴 This week we will sum up Q'n'A we had with our Designer Prokop on Stream. We also asked Aleš some big picture questions over our company chat. Molenusaczech: "Will there be a way to build underwater and drain the water? like a glass dome?" Ales: "We would love to have that option in the game one day." originalspiritchaser: "Did you help design the sunsets and sunrises?" Prokop: "No, that's not what I do. It was done by Michal who doesn't work with us anymore. It does look amazing but it's not an asset design." mello1223: "Do you have prescribed sizes for the things you add or is it just up to you?" Prokop: "Well, it depends. When we think about new animals and other entities that need to move, the tallest thing collision wise should always be the player. So we don't want to make anything bigger when it has collisions. But it could be bigger and mountable just without collisions. We don't want to make too many small things either. We know you guys, the community would take that and use it a million times to build something... very precious but also very draining for the game FPS." Prokop: "Did you guys find all secret stuff related to fishing?" originalspiritchaser: "Secret stuff? Can we catch a Creator Cube if we find the right fishing spot? LOL" Prokop: "No . In the Codex there was a hint that in different depths, day times and weather it affects what fish you can catch." mello1223: "fishing: yes, it's interesting, but the possibilities should be optimized a bit, something like more things for the zircon fishing rod, and less for the coral" Prokop: "The zircon fishing rod doesn't pick up junk that much and has a bigger possibility to catch rarer fish." jrock432176: "All I would say is that a little mini game or something to “fight” the fish to reel them in would be cool" Prokop: "We were thinking about that a lot. However we don't have minigames for any other resource gathering and if we added them we would explode the game size." Molenusaczech: "Will there be pistons/bearings/a way to move stuff using electricity or magic?" Prokop: "I think that in the future and maybe even in the update we are currently working on you can see some stuff with magic however not like pistons or bearings. And electricity is on our list and we will work on that in the future." bobo1098337: "anything you can tell us about the new Dungeons?" Prokop: "Well as you can see the ghosts that are going to be included in the update... Maybe it's even connected to the dungeons... who knows... who am I to answer that ..." Hey there, fellow Ylanders! This week's Dev Diary will kick off with a message from Aleš, addressing our amazing players: "A bit ago we had a live stream and it was a lot of fun as usual. But there was one specific segment I enjoyed the most, which I find really satisfying and which I've been thinking about quite a lot. Our Community Manager Anna took me on a trip to a server, where players build, well, things. That, by itself, isn't anything uncommon. What has blown our minds was how many awesome things players have built since Anna had laid a foundation for that place. A mere two weeks ago. So many amazing structures, filled with so many cool and funny details. And not only are players working on their own buildings, but they also keep adding and enhancing things others have made. And, most importantly, when you go there you are met with the exact amount of fun, silly and class that we consider the core Ylands values." If building in a place where others can admire your skills, collaborating with other creators and being able to explore and have fun with them sounds good to you - be sure to join the server. The name is SECRET STREAMERLAND (So don't tell anyone.... tell just about everyone!). Seeing how much incredible content can be created in just two weeks is damn impressive and it's something that makes us really happy. (And it seems that the new blueprint system is quite helpful, which is also great. ) Huge thanks to everyone who participates in this cool endeavour (as well as those we have yet to see) and stay classy, Ylanders!

Changing weather in Creative mode. Ylands team: Yes, together with day and night. Having different light levels and diameters for head lamp. Ylands team: This is planned in the future. Hi Ylanders! This week we are going to talk about the competition you could have noticed on the stream or on our social media. After that we will have a look at the naming process, that takes place in our company, together with some funny inside jokes. Name Game Once upon a time our Designer Prokop asked his teammates for new creatures' names ideas. And we thought: "but wait... we have such a creative community, let's bring this to the players!" Who is this magnificent creature? Where did it come from and what does its name say about it? Well that's up to you! Send us your idea how to name this elephant insect and the one we like the best will be included in the game! Send us your ideas over any social media (https://linktr.ee/Ylandsgame) until 20/9/2022 11:59 PM CET. Naming Process As we mentioned above, most of the time the naming process is up to the designers and art department (cause some of them chill in the same room you see). We asked Prokop the Designer what the name game usually looks like in the Ylands team. Who's behind the process of name development in our team? Prokop: "Do I know the person making up names of most of the assets in game recently? Of course I know him. He's me." Can you tell me how the naming goes? Prokop: "The process of creating and naming a new asset is simple. Designers come with an idea of what they need to have in the game, graphic artists then create a concept, which is discussed and confirmed with the asset designer (still me) and if we don't have a good idea for naming it, we brainstorm." Do you have any funny stories about the naming work progress? Prokop: "I don't have any funny stories cause it is quite self-explanatory. I don't mean to sound arrogant but I just sit down, look at the model and write something random. That's how I roll. Honestly, the most fun I have is when I manage to create some silly jokes in descriptions of pets and costumes. 'Cause I'm strong both in terms of wits and mustache." (Hm, where does this game reference come from I wonder) Please tell us about some funny names you use internally during the development of Ylands. Prokop: "Pteroprd instead of Terrorbird. The language play is quite obvious. But only the Czechs would understand." Big thanks to our team for always being so on top of things and fun to work with. And of course the biggest thanks goes to our community for being so active, participating on streams and creating amazing breathtaking structures in our game. I think the name game is in good hands. We bring you our first blog where we answer some of your questions, ideas and suggestion. Idea by Max-imo + JoeValentine + Deadeye_Rob + Yuqi Submarines Ylands team: The sea system we have now is not able to support submarines. First we want to conquer the sky. Idea by JB Business Would be nice after you place an icon on the map to give it some text like the craftable signs, the text can be always visible or semi visble when you hover the mouse on it, the option can be added in the options menu of the icon. Ylands team: We are planning to add that option. Idea by Deadeye_Rob I'd like to suggest that for the next update/patch, a Tech-Tree Feature that displays every craftable entity in the game and what needs to be achieved in order to unlock it. Ylands team: We are making changes to the overall crafting system. We would definitely love to hear more feedback after the update that implements them. We are also looking into other ways to make crafting clearer. Idea by stryker007 Hi have a suggestion that could useful in the game for organizing, labeling wooden boxs of any container would be nice Ylands team: We definitely want to add more options to write signs, add more letters and maybe even naming containers. We will have a big brainstorming session on this and will let you know what we come up with, feel free to suggest us your best solutions as well. Idea by Deadeye_Rob Have you guys considered hosting a permanent Community Island on Adventure mode?
