    RESOLVED Character presets

That's a great idea! I actually have a favorite character myself This is totally doable. We still have a little bit of time until we release the 0.17 update, so we'll make sure to have this ready for the update too. Thank you for the suggestion, Michal, and long live Miguel Preguisa!

    Sneak Peek #11

How is it going, ylanders? First of all, we wanted to let you know that although the 0.17 update is taking a bit longer than what we planned to, it will certainly be out sometime during next week. In addition to the Editor changes and the Yland 17, in the end we have decided to include the enhanced version of the tutorial in the 0.17 update as well. For this we will be making use of the new hints system, that was implemented in the 0.16 update. And the icing on the cake - Khan, one of our designers, created a new level by putting into use some of the new Editor features. But I won't give you any details about this one, you'll have to see it with your own eyes With the 0.17 update being this close to be released, most of the team is already focused on the following update. We don't want to spoil all the details for now, so we'll just leave you with a small teaser (and please bear in mind that it's just the first iteration): But it wouldn't make much sense to travel by boat when having just one yland, right? And that should be all for now - talk to you soon! Ane
  3. Hi Baobun! The installation shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes, could you try restarting the whole progress again (as in downloading the setup again, you can do this from the main page at www.ylands.com)? Let us know if that does the trick. Would you mind telling me where in the world you are located? Also, could you attach the following log files? YlandsLauncher.log and YlandsLauncher-previous.log. You can find these at the following location: C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\YlandsLauncher Thank you!

    Dev Diary #1

Greetings, ylanders! If you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook (and if you don't - shame on you! You won't find GIFs with more personality in any other part of the Internet! Also, you'll be informed of all the development news) you probably already know by now that Ylands has been chosen to be part of the Made with Unity Showcase at Unite 16. Unite is the annual conference where thousands of Unity developers, game publishers, and press gather to discuss development and show off their cool projects. A few developers are invited to attend and demo their games in person, so we are very proud to be among that group. This time the event will take place in Los Angeles, November 1-3. If you're curious, the list of all the participants in the showcase can be found here. The whole team is very excited about this opportunity, since it will be the first time we publicly present Ylands. The thought of people enjoying this "little project" we've working on for the last 2 years is honestly thrilling. During those 3 days, we will have a kiosk where people will be able to play Ylands with us and learn all about the game. Along with the showcase, our Lead Designer Aleš will have a talk (called "There's a game in your game!"), where he will explain the design and technical challenges the team has encountered so far when it comes to developing a game such as Ylands and the best practices of overcoming those. Go, Aleš! If you happen to be in LA during the event, please do come by! We will be happy to talk to you Have an awesome weekend! Ane

    Sneak Peek #9

Hi there, ylanders! As you know the following update will be centered around the Editor. One of the main features will be the ability to start editing in a completely empty world, with nothing at all in it (it will be as empty as my fridge on a regular Sunday evening). You'll be able to start building the terrain from scratch and let your imagination go from there, so that the world you create truly belongs to you. For example, our programmer Lukáš created this masterpiece for us to test. Even if it didn't take him long to set this up, we already had our share of fun Right now in the Editor you can switch to the character mode, where you control the character pretty much the same way you would in the game, which is fun but also a bit constraining at the same time. Because of that we are reworking it to a new mode that will help you come up with new levels even faster and with more ease. And yes, you'll be able to create even more sophisticated ones than the one we started with (but don't tell that to Lukáš ) And that should be all for now. We are really excited about some of the things that we have in store and we are looking forward to sharing them with you But that will have to wait until the next time! Ane

Editor! So we had the Elementary Editor and the Extended Editor... maybe it's time we evolve the Editor into its 3rd form? One of the cool things that are coming our way is the possibility to fiddle with not only scenarios, but with regular ylands as well. And what's better than having a brand new scenario (Welcome. Welcome to Yland 17.) to test all the new features? What is it that I'm seeing in the faaar faaar distance (beyond the Editor!)? Is that thing floating in the water coming towards me? Could it be a *they take her away*

    RESOLVED New tab in inventory

Hi there, Miguel ()! You're right, there is such category in the Creator Cube, but not in the regular inventory. Thank you for the suggestion, we'll take it into account

    Sneak Peek #6

Dear ylanders, With the upcoming update being just around the corner (the corner being next week *subtle*), we are finalizing and polishing the big features related to the Wicked Woodsman and going over nasty bugs that for some reason keep coming back to us. Our brainstorming sessions have increased a 10000%, where we try to come up with ideas of how to make you players suffer as much as possible in the new tutorial yland. Hmm, did I say suffer? I meant delight in the various puzzles and hidden corners spread out throughout the yland. My two cents: whenever you think you've discovered all the places go for a stroll again because you most probably missed some of them Just remember that the chalices are not what they seem. You guys enjoy the weekend! Ane
  10. Okay, so please download the new setup we just put there and reinstall the game, that should fix the issue. If not, please let us know!
  11. Alright guys, we are looking into it right now, we'll let you know as soon as we have more info. Thank you!
  12. I'm sorry to hear that! I'm glad you managed to fix it on your own, nevertheless we'll take a look and see where the issue lies. Enjoy the game, Herr Vaermi! And don't hesitate to let us know in case you encounter any other issue.
  13. CHANGELOG Enormous Explosions - 25/07/2016 NEW FEATURES Places of Wonder - both small and big randomly generated locations filled with interesting objects and structures, where players can find interesting items and perform various activities. Their density can be set up while creating a new yland (in the Advanced yland creation panel) and new ones will be added all the time Explosives (dynamites, grenades...) Catapult that can throw everything that is located in the basket behind it (living things like animals can be thrown right now, but the ability to fire players will be added in the next update) Whenever the player is asked to enter a text (mostly to name objects) a confirmation window follows to avoid unwanted texts being used Added "Host a game" button under the "Join" option in the Main menu, where some players were looking for it instead of creating the MP game directly via "Play" Stackable items can be now separated within the inventory (while holding CTRL when dropping them) Identical stackable items can be now merged in the inventory into larger stacks New sulphur and saltpeter veins now exist on ylands, allowing creation of gunpowder Gunpowder-related formulas NEW ITEMS Frag grenade Catapult Sulphur chunk Saltpeter chunk Gunpowder Bomb Dynamite bundle Dynamite stick Improvised grenade Bomb disposal suit and helmet Chainlink fence Potato Potato plant Potato grenade Baked potato Potato seed MAJOR FIXES Fixed issue where players were unable to rename an yland in the basic yland creation panel GUI fonts size slightly increased Fixed Break/Dismantle item buttons not working properly in some cases with items at the inventory Tamed horse should now shake off its rider less frequently Changed the visual representation of horse being fed Camera position tweaked Glass items should now be very easy to break Warning about max. possible yland size allowed for MP is once again shown Horse animations have now smoother transitions Animals are no longer fleeing from predators (until their fleeing behaviour is improved) Fixed some panels still using the old visual scheme Fixed missing or obstructed texts at some panels Fixed issue where typing in texts (e.g. naming an yland) would slow down the game Fixed character visual at the character creation panel sometimes looking different from the initial values All animals now make step sounds Slightly raised gamepad deadzone Fixed issue that sometimes prevented players from connecting to a LAN session Fixed several issues with dyeing and potion making workstation panels COMING SOON Coming Soon to your ylands… Wicked Woodsman! "Timber!" - you might find yourself shouting often from now on, as you witness the beauty of a tree falling down when chopping it down with your freshly sharpened axe. But this is not the only thing you've learnt on the way to becoming a proper survivor, even the one and only Nigel Thornberry would be proud of your skills when it comes to setting traps. When and how to set them is just up to your imagination... or reaction time (for some reason, our creativity might get impaired when being chased by a huge bear).
  14. Update 11/08/2016 Version 0.15.21872 New way of login and account creation: the login fields are gone and in their place is just a "LOGIN" button that takes you to the standard BI login webpage with the ability to sign up and in through Steam, Facebook, Twitter and G+ (login through via Bohemia Account username/password combination is still possible)

    Sneak Peek #4

Ahoj, my dear ylanders! We've already mentioned a couple of times that we're working on evolving into masters of the forest (by chopping down trees and setting traps), but those are not the only things that are keeping us busy at the moment. Because we know first impressions are crucial, we decided to give the Tutorial yland a facelift. I managed to steal this first sketch from our artist Kuba, who is now using his magic to make it into an actual playable yland. For now I will let you wonder about what could each of those areas contain. You'll discover it for yourselves soon! Ane
  16. For example... ...I got into the yland and this is the first place I ran into
  17. Ane

    Sneak Peek #2

Heya! Another week, another chance to talk about what's going on in our air-conditioned cave right now! Last time we mentioned we are working on explosives, today I thought it might be cool to show you how throwing an explosive (or anything else) with the catapult looks like. No one expects the explosive ostrich attack! (not even the ostrich itself) At the same time, we have started putting our efforts into making the fist person camera experience much smoother. We won't see this in the Enormous Explosions update, but we'll definitely see some improvements in the following weeks And talking about weeks, you can expect the 0.15 update to see the light of day during the next week ^^ Until then, enjoy the game! (and don't walk while looking at your phone to try to catch Pokémon or you might join the ostrich in the catapult) Ane

    Sneak Peek #2

Mmm you got me intrigued with that "Dirty Cave"! Enjoy your holidays
  19. CHANGELOG Wild West - 28/06/2016 Before this update we were able to shoot just with bows, but from now on we'll have a wide range of long-distance weapons to choose from - crossbows, handguns, rifles, shotguns, you name it! Just make sure the ammo is in your inventory and you're good to go (using the ammo from the creator cube will make it into infinite ammo - Hershel from The Walking Dead would approve!). For those who are not experts in the art of war, don't panic, because there will be a hint telling us what ammo to use in each case. If you try to shoot with an empty clip it will be auto reloaded, or you can reload your weapon at any time by pressing R (ideally before you get shot while you are still loading our weapon; but if not, I'm pretty sure the vultures won't complain about it). For a more precise shooting, click the right mouse button and it'll be switched to the aiming mode. Shoot them rabbits right where you want to! And now that you can perform different actions with the things you hold in your hands, new controls were assigned so that one of the hands is always free, and so the controls have been reset. NEW FEATURES Introduced "proper" shooting for both firearms and bows New GUI looks (please note that some panels are still being tweaked) Duplicated keys now fit original locks. Duplicated doors/chests can be opened with the key which fits the original door/chest New way of dyeing items (new workstation looks and recipes) Added a new visual hint showing the player that they have received/lost an item [Editor] Eyedrop tool added (allows quick selection/duplication of objects present in the level) [Editor] "Perform action with an entity" now accepts an additional parameter (e.g. to specify how much damage should an entity receive etc.) [Editor] Character is now flying after switching to character mode [Editor] Added Clone button that allows for game logic object actions to be duplicated Largely improved/reworked Launcher window Actor now remains in the game even after the player has logged out (the one setting up the game will eventually be able to enable/disable this feature) It is now possible to rebuild fire from the ashes Added confirmation panel to various operations in the menu Updated/added several animations Added new animal: vulture Added several boar variations Mirrors now reflect the sky color and players' character Added new particle effects (e.g. water splashes) Added new sounds Weapons now require/consume proper animations and can be reloaded Characters and animals now lay feet on the terrain properly Characters now correctly turn to the direction they're aiming at First rough iteration of character movement gamepad controls (please note that most of the advanced features and GUI panels can't be controlled via gamepad yet) Implemented a lot of camera-related improvements, plus the position of the character in 3rd person view has been changed Temporarily removed Dutch language from the language list Picked items now visually move "into" the character NEW ITEMS Tombstones Bottle Wooden chairs Wooden fence Cowboy clothes Cowgirl sideways Fixed characters falling through chairs when sitting on a chair placed on an uneven surface Pressing ESC or alt-tabbing when diving no longer breaks the game COMING SOON Coming Soon to your ylands… Enormous Explosions! Shooting is cool, but making things explode adds about 2.883.227 million points (more or less) in the epicness scale – according to me, that is. Plus this should make hunting a tiny bit more exciting! Look behind you! A one-headed goat flying across the sky*! But how is that possible…? Ah, the fancy new catapults coming to our ylands might have to do something with that! You want to get rid of something (like really, anything)? Place it in the catapult, shoot it and see where it lands! *No goats were harmed in the making of this post

Oh, I see! I thought you meant you couldn't craft any item once you were in the Crafting tab. In that case, could you please send us your output_log file? This should be in the directory \Program Files\Ylands\Game\Ylands_Data. Thanks!
