    Playing the game fairly

    I just launched a new map, it's all sparkly new Search the MPLobby for P1 and choose the PVE server. (If you want to cube build for an upcoming project, get in touch with me for access to that P1 Server.) The beauty of our server is that I promote our regular core players so that they can help keep the map safe from griefing and generally trollish players. The way the admin priviledges work is that you are assigned a number. You can kick or ban those below your number. I elevate our core players to 100, I call them the Centurions. Centurions can kick or ban troublemakers in real time, with no need to wait for an admin to be online. HMU on discord if you want to be a Centurion. P1gaming.net/discord If you want to join the building coalition, we can discuss cubing you.

    It has been happening in my multiplayer games too. The prop pack always does that rubber bandy thing. Ships are problematic as well. If I knew how to vid capture I would post the example.

    I don't understand that attitude, honestly. If I buy a car and a couple of years later it comes out with new features, I don't go to the dealership demanding the new features for free. If I go to work, my boss doesn't just pay me once. I get paid for the work I do. Devs should get that too. There will be no incentive to develop the game if there isn't money to be made. The base game will work without the purchases. The purchases enhance. No one is forced to buy anything. My desire is for more stuff. If that comes through purchase in the Coyn store, fine. Just make it easier for me to purchase the coyns. If it is through the modding community, fine. I want more stuff.

    Decorations as they are now are problematic. I am not against the coyn store at all. In fact, I look forward to more decorative content. Building is my passion in this game, and I want more stuff. As Red said, I support being able to buy more content for both more content, and to support game development. My other favorite game is The Sims 4. There are multiple stuff packs, game packs and extension packs every year. I buy them all. I probably have well over $200 invested in tgat game, and eagerly await every new addition. The biggest difference is having to buy decorative items by the item. I would prefer to pay a little more, and then just own them. Also, they need to have the same 2 minute period to be able to move them. As it is, I have to decide if a build is worth using up the limited amount of chairs I have. I also would like to be able buy them (or coyns) through Steam. I would also like to see the decorative stuff, and costumes, opened up to the modding community, monetezed or not. I will be very disappointed if tge decorative items go away and we are left with the very sparce items currently in game. This could actually put me off the game entirely.

    Max of 8 players in the game right now. I don't know if that's planned to be increased. As things are right now, servers struggle with 6 people on.

    What's Wrong?

    Ales has said the reason the game is not keeping players is because there is no advertising. That may be part of it. But not the whole picture. I have nearly 1800 hours in this game since it went up on Steam. I am a big fan. I have been working hard, along with my friends, to promote active cooperative PVE. I think I have some "cred" to share the player perspective. Bear in mind, I mean this constructively. One of the major failings of this game is multiplayer as it is now. Yes, yes. There is lag. Ships are glitchy. There are a lot of things needing fixing. I am confident they will be fixed. What concerns me, and what is driving players away is the multiplayer. Especially the official servers. It's not that there are too many. There ARE too many at least at this point. They are not being used. Have any of the devs visited them? They are wiped with updates. But it doesnt take long before they look like crimes against humanity have happened at spawn. You can't easily bury bodies and they never go away. This happens when new players spawn in and nope out. Who wants to be greeted with such a grisly welcome? It also happens as a form of passive griefing. But what causes players like me to leave is the active griefing. This has driven me off the official servers. Even complaints of hate activities and racism, with proof, have not been dealt with. Even though we were assured by Devs that it had been. Drop in to Explore NA 9. You will see that the Hitler wannabee not only thrives, but has managed to drive off at least 4 players. Those players include me and @kimbuck. We were assured this player had been dealt with. As far as I can see he was just granted a new name. But you see, I have his number. Literally. I don't have any problem with PVP, but the system we have now on the official servers doesn't work. It rewards bad behavior and leaves good players to the mercy of a$$holes. There needs to be some way to police the official servers. I think this game skews to a more mature (not just oldsters like me, but younger folks here for this amazing little game.) There isn't a lot of tolerance for the jerks who just want to destroy and intimidate for the lols. The new Fallout 76 MP has some interesting ideas of how to deal with it that turns it into game play. Devs, please take thus seriously. Or you could lose your core.

    I see dead players all the time on our P1 PVE servers. I assume it's due to freezing as they are in their undies. The only "proof" I have is once Red died and that is what got him. I have also had players get killed by predators who were outside the house and they were sleeping on a cot near the wall. I myself was killed by a wolf who was outside the building. I nipped in for protection but he got me anyway. Other problems, I have noticed a jerkiness when using the prop. It doesn't seem to be lag per se. But it goes forward, and jerks back, forward and back. This has been since the update. I haven't tried it since the update, but I don't recall it being mentioned in the fix notes, the exploits using grass mats and other sleeping things to gain access to locked, barrier spaces. This needs to be fixed, at least in PVE. I just woke up, so I am sure there are more. Marble stones being invisible. Blueprints still not working correctly. I'm sure there is more.

    They say water will be portable at some point. When I have gotten stuck, I have had some success doing a few things. You can rock the ship loose by popping a padlock on it with the anchor raised. It causes the ship to rock. Sometimes getting it unstuck. If you pile dirt or sand under it strategically you can push it. I have used this as a last ditch effort. Either free it or bury it real good! What I have not tried, because I didn't know about it at the time is /unstuck 3. I have no idea if that works on ships. It works on cars. Finally, and I have no idea if it would help free the ship or make things worse. Make a flower pot and plant a tree. It takes a couple of ingame days, but it will tip your ship. Get rid of the tree and the ship pops upright again. It might just throw it back to water level. Good luck.

    Water is a mess at this time. You can't ever quite fix it, even with the terrain gun or in editor. Are you playing SP or MP?
