The combat music seems to cut off abruptly. Perhaps another track to transition from the combat, back to the environment music. Would make it feel less jarring.

Not sure if this was in change log, but it bears mentioning. Time passes for growing things when sleeping? You got it working again? Sweet! No more having to run the game as dedicated just so stuff grows in singleplayer. No more waits got my cloth production. And the fact that this works in multiplayer, too? I'm excited to play online again. Thanks for the fixes!

found the topic covering these details, with illustrations. check the link here.

I remember reading something about this in another topic. basically, splitters split the power evenly to both sides. you start with a turbine, the first splitter takes off a point, the divides 9.5 to each output. the more splitters you use, the more you divide the power exponentially (that the right word?) so you have lots of wasted power. using OR gates can help you comnbine the remaining power, but they too take up a point of total power available. you'll have to waste some power recombining your energy streams, then sending them through another splitter just to power another light source. it's currently messy, buggy, and you're far better off using quartz or ylandium crystals, or lanterns. yeah, current energy system is a mess. why a light source can't just take some of the power, like real electric lights do, I don't know. unfortunately energy system isn't a priority in next patch, so it'll remain fairly broken for a while longer.

Wow, we can cook food over a candle? Was, was not expecting that but it works. Light it up, place it down without burning yourself, throw some raw meat on top. Best of all, no need to bash the campfire until it's gone or turn to Ash. Just pick up the candle and move on.

You can cook your food directly on a fire without needing to interact with it. Place two campfires next to your fishing spot, fish will cook automatically as you catch them.

Is there plans for Ylands to have PvE only servers?
mid endian replied to Pharaun Mizzrym's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to know as well. It's possible to set up a pve system of sorts using the editor, but then the devs patched out game logics for saved games, so. . . Can't even use tools available to restrict player killing in exploration Maps. -
Opinion: This game is not ready to leave early access

Usually games are feature complete when they leave early access. Will the editor have the missing features and more options for making custom exploration Maps, including the use of game logics? -

Frankly the state of the editor needs change and heavy bug testing. We don't have access to features that exploration Maps put it. Distance between islands, generating multiple biomes, settings for regenerating resources for online servers, density settings for flora and fauna--and this is just the editor in its current state, never mind the glitchy energy system, inability to add logics for all saves, irregardless of game type, and the piles of glitches we still have to endure. Devs, take the time to make custom maps worth putting the time into making. Give some thought to server hosts that wanted to personalize custom exploration Maps. To me the game won't be feature complete by August. -
Will we be able to generate our own explorer maps in the editor? Will the editor limit us to a single biome? Can we adjust distance between islands in map generation through both editor a creative start?

There's plenty of textured survival crafting games out there. If the texture style, or lack of, isn't appealing, there are plenty other games to try. I for one like the art style. I hop on top of the tree and looked out over the island, it was quite beautiful with the sunset.

RESOLVED Charging Station and Ylandium Engine
mid endian replied to TheSparkPlug's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Knock on particle board. They need to add this. Good use of wood pieces. -
I'll be happy with a cart that we can pull ourselves to help manage inventory a bit.

RESOLVED [YLD-8970] Died, then spawned on a different island.
mid endian replied to bojo2736's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
This might help everyone involved on a server. To The Host, if you go into the editor to help out players that were victims of bugs and glitches, ask them to type in /unstuck 1 so they are right at the spawn point of an island. Each island has their own. Then you can use the go to drop down to check each island and look near the ocean where spawn points are always sets to find the person that is stuck. Location can also be edited on player avatars. Hope this is useful. -
Free deconstruction (pick up) of blocks in a single player survival game
mid endian replied to McYland's question in Suggestions & Feedback
There are many features that aren't even available in the editor which for use to make exploration Maps. I like to see some of those at least for Creative builds or even custom Island scenarios that do allow multiple biomes. It is still currently possible to make a composition out of the generator before it has been placed and activated. This at least is one way to get around the limitation if creation is your goal on an exploration map. -
in singleplayer sleeping allowed seeds to grow without having to leave the game on while you go do something else. in singleplayer. not sure if this was intentional by the devs, but why singleplayer too? I understand multiplayer could have some limits with this, but did the day and night cycle get turned into just a lighting change and nothing else? anyway upvoting this cause stuff doesn't grow faster when sleeping to keep with the time, we've had this before and I hope you can put it back.
-
If you can set up a night time zombie (mummy, mutant) spawn, let us know.
-
Maybe exploration logic sets NPCs for specific biomes, but doesn't limit them one per island.
-
I haven't tried to despond someone's inventory, but I'm not even sure how to check that it is empty. I know the standard vendor NPC is spawned in at a certain time. It just needs to be assigned a label for Logic to interact with it. An action sequencer populates the inventory for the vendor. This may be less laggy overall. Are you trying to preserve the inventory for each vendor, when a player interacts with it?
-
Truly, bug squashing is an ongoing problem. We'll have more fun things to try out in future patches.
-
First iteration of new mechanics can be underwhelming, but the devs are pretty active. I'm sure we'll also have other missing features from Scenario editor. The hotfix basically stripped the addition of custom NPCs for exploration games, and player made features that rely on game logics. Kinda feels like a step back. . . .

RESOLVED Remove the energy streams completely.
mid endian replied to Captain Monki's question in Suggestions & Feedback
Agreed. Other games have a similar energy mechanic, but the streams are only visible when you have the proper tool equipped. Upvoted on this suggestion, I'd rather not see any energy streams at all without the connector tool. -
My guess is when NPCs can attack and react to other entities, they'll have options in the editor to path find their way around the world.

You respawn on the nearest spawn point, even if that's another island. You can die in the middle of the ocean and start at a different island than the one you left.
