    Hoard your Ylandium Crystals

You don't have to melee them. Use gun or (my favorite) bow. You are pretty much safe when killing them from a far.

    Coal

Because you need coal to make Steel.

    Caves and exploring them

They are slightly stronger than normal animals, but not really boss-like.They drop some bones plus some mutated ones. They are used to make ylandium dust.

    Hoard your Ylandium Crystals

Not sure but I have fully explored four ylands and not a single one.

    No, it doesn't.

    Tundra Concept

Arctic Ylands are nice (great new penguins! I saw them just today) but not really friendly to live on. So I was thinking about some new climate area that's both cool and snowy (no pun intended ) but suitable for inhabitation. And I came with this: TUNDRA! As you can see on this map, tundra isn't some tiny tiny biotope. But that's of course not all! I wrote down some ideas on Tundra ylands. Needs to be covered in snow. Maybe not every single meter, but it should have the "cold" atmosphere. There isn't any type of tree but Conifers. Most of these are covered in snow, but there could be even some green Conifers. It should be more common to find here Arctic Willows, Rocks (the medium ones) and Magic Bushs (just my thought, it could be the reward for finding the Tundra yland). Because it's really cold in the tundra, there should be less vegetation such as berry bushes or even grass. Last point, animals. The only animals spawning here would be Arctic Rabbits, Arctic Wolfs, Brown Bears (I'm not sure, but Polar Bears seemed inappropriate) and maybe some goats? And now some screenshots! I actually recreate this on a small piece of land in the Editor. Tell me what do you think about this! I want to hear what would you like to see in the tundra.

RESOLVED Placing wall torch / lanterns

I will write down everything about placing I know. Hope it will help you. Use keys F+J to 90 rotate on the different axis and Q+Z for the height. You can also use V to enter free placing mode (without the grid). You can rotate items manually by pressing H and set by the mouse which axis you want to change. Same with position and G key. I prefer to use first person camera when placing something precisely.

    Allow 'PAUSE' in Singleplayer

I agree, but for now you can quickly climb a nearby tree. It won't save you from starving but it will protect you against predators.

    Open Cave on Fang-Yland

You can rotate it on different axis with F and J.

You should make Cold Resistance Potion.

    new stuff discovered

I believe that Piece of Coal is just an item for easier snowman building. It was added in the same update as Santa's factory. Look how many snowmen are there. And to the Nugget of Pure Green... It's a reference to the serial called Black Adder. I recommend to watch it all (Nugget of Pure Green appears in s02 e04 called Money). If you just want to see the one scene, here you go:

There are some for sure! And not just ships. Try to look for floating debris in the sea.

    Unofficial Trailer

Even though it's a bit long it's something that made me turn on my computer. Ylands is now loading. So you did a pretty good job! By the way, really cool ship!

Exploration for gold in Hang Son Doong

Some my thoughts to this: I recommend marking your way out somehow. I really like to use signs in a shape of an arrow for this. One plank for each, easy to see in a cave and you see clearly where you have to go. I have just a little experience in the caves adventures but I would like to see more medium sized ones too. Explored every single cave on five Ylands and got 10 Ylandium Dust from it. (all from bones) But I guess it's also my bad luck. They are already looking into AI. As I understood, they are making changes to it (complete rewrite?) already in the upcoming 0.4 update. Never experienced fog in the caves so I can't judge this. You mean their color in the world? I, for myself, think that those colors are nice the way they are. I can spot different veins with not so much effort. Smaller but more frequent veins sound good to me. But on the other hand, this is the thing that keeps you Exploring. That could be one of the goodies you can get from digging. You can even find yourself a diamond!

    On terraforming...

Today I left the game upset. For the second time of the whole year and a half. I must say that terraforming is a mechanic that I don't like in the Ylands. (Not even talking about the water) At one time you think you can handle the terraforming pretty well and a minute later some little thing pop up and you are trying to get rid of it next few hours. And I mean that literally. My plan for today was to make some little dock and start building a ship, then maybe even visit some another Yland and finally find Ylandium. Instead, I spent my two last hours on terraforming one single strip of land. I was lowering my expectations every half hour to "Okay, I just need a straight line somewhere. No more deflection that two spaces of the grid so I can mask it with the big bricks." Of course, that didn't happen even when I cheated and added myself the Terraformer. I'm still not sure how to make it look better... These are the two biggest problems as I see it: This little lower segment in a terrain. You can't effectively flatten it, it either doesn't respond at all or it makes a bigger chunk of dirt on its side. And if you add a little dirt on it and then try to flatten it, it will just simply reappear. The only way how to get rid of this I know is to dig the whole place down and rebuild it again. This is more a bug but it's really often (mostly around that lower segments) and it makes terraforming harder and more irritating. Its a hole to "void" and if you step on this you will get stuck. And to end this not so negative, I must say that there is a minimum of pieces of dirt floating in the air as I remember from my last Explore world. Which is really great!

You should make yourself some Water Breathing Potions

    Building

I have never experienced any lag because of all those placed items. I don't know how they are doing it, but it works excellently for me. By "little jumpy" you mean low FPS? (you can toggle the GUI with ' to show FPS) Or it's just a "feeling"? I see you have really heavy shoes on you and that could make you run slower + there were some issues with shadows which could lead to a immersion of lags. Or your computer just had a bad day and it will be running better next time, I don't know.

Yes. Multiple birds are flying to one island almost everytime.

    Building

Love it! Here's my old Explore world if you missed it. My new needs a little more time (and Ylandium) but it's also slowly coming together.
