  1. Not quite sure I understand this one ?
  2. For things like this (well ideally for absolutely everything ?) it helps us enormously when we have the out logs. Would that be possible?
  3. Adam Snellgrove

RESOLVED unable to send feedback when using attach log.

I am getting loads of Feedback with attached logs through the feedback option. Is this still a problem? But it is much better for us, when you post feedback on the forums because through the Feedback option we can't contact you back (because it's Anonymous) and ask extra questions.

Ylands is broken & something needs to be said

Don't feel, like you can't give feedback. Feedback is incredibly important to us and crucial for Ylands to prosper and e the best there is ? So thank you fo your comments and we will take them to heart.
  5. What a great week this was! ? And we have this week's winner of the Screenshot contest with the theme: Relaxation. But before we announce it, thank you, everyone, for participating. Not only do you bring joy and inspiration to our team, but also you represent the ingenuity of the Ylands community and whenever anyone sees these screenshots, they'll be amazed, what can be done in Ylands. Like last week, we're going to announce three runner-ups tomorrow, who'll each get a 1000 Coyn reward, so look out for that ? But finally first place goes to the amazing zarwil and his relaxing cave screenshot...after being in a shipwreck. Well I'm sure it was relaxing in contrast to being in a shipwreck. Congratulations zarwil and expect your winnings tomorrow ? And remember to check on Monday, what the next theme will be and I truly hope the screenshots will be as amazing as this week and last week's. Everyone thank you SO much and as always, stay classy Ylanders!

    Contest Screenshot Contest Week 2

Rightio Screenshotters, here we go again ? But first, we have to announce the runner-ups to last weeks contest. All screenshots submitted last week were absolutely fantastic, but we chose three to give out another small pile of coyns to, so let us know your in-game names, so we can send it over. And the runner ups are Christalle and her awesome robot, SweetPeaCC and his cosy bedroom photo and zarwil with his dramatic "ship in a storm" photo. And now, for this week's contest, the theme will be relaxation. So any relaxing screenshots you have or relaxing situations you experience in the coming week, send them over for the chance to win a pile of coyns ? The limit shall be again 3 screenshots per person, but don't be afraid to send in just one or two, because you only need one to win ☺️ And remember, you can submit your screenshots here, or on Instagram and Twitter under the hashtags #pycs and #YlandsPycs . So start screenshotting and most of all, stay classy Ylanders.

    Dev Diary #92

Hello Ylanders, Today we’re going to discuss monetization. AH! Wait! Monetization by creators! Phew, that was close. In the new 0.14 update, creators will be able to monetize pretty much anything in their games for Coyns, which they'll then receive from the player. In the editor, a new game logic will appear with monetization options. So, you could, for instance, monetize an item, stats, new locations or new levels of the game. But you can also sell plots of land, building materials or give money to NPCs and so on and so on ? You can choose any amount from 10 to 2,500 Coyns for your transaction and then it is only up to the player if he likes what you’re offering, or not...oh no. Here he comes again. Ah, Major General, what can I do for you today? Major General Archibald Bartholomew of Brenau: Well I have a couple of inquiries actually about this ‘scheme’ of yours. Adam: Of course Major General, ask away. Major General Archibald Bartholomew of Brenau: Well what happens, and now do try to keep up you nitwit, what happens if I visit a game of an absolute knave, who promises a delightful experience, but then just takes my hard-earned dosh and makes a runner? Answer that and stay fashionable! Adam: Well first we’d recommend to contact the creator himself, because it could just be an honest mistake or a bug, but if that doesn’t work, you’d contact us, we’d send our best investigators on the case and if we find, that he truly was a scoundrel, we’d return you your Coyns and ban him. Major General Archibald Bartholomew of Brenau: Well...that does sound rather reasonable. But how do I, and now I’ve got you red-handed you incompetent hornswoggler, how do I find out, if a game is any good or complete codswallop? Adam: We are working on a system of reviewing these games in the future, but for this update we’re going to make a special section on the Forums, where creators will be encouraged to start threads for their games, thus also promoting them. There players can leave their thoughts and impressions. Major General Archibald Bartholomew of Brenau: Hm, I suppose that is a satisfactory answer. And what do you get out of it all? A pound of flesh no doubt. Adam: We do take a 'cut' as you'd call it, but a very reasonable 30%. So if a player pays 100 Coyns for a feature in a creators game, the creator himself will receive 70 Coyns and we 30. Does that sound reasonable to you Major? Major General Archibald Bartholomew of Brenau: It is Major General actually, thank you very much, but these terms do sound...acceptable. After all, you also have to put meat on the plate of that infernal abomination of a creature you call a cat. Well okay, you have me sold. I shall peruse some of these ventures and maybe even invest some of my capital in them. See you later alligator! The Major General welcoming eager players. Ugh. Well that was...unbearable. Anyway, one more thing I wanted to impart on you all before I depart. We will make available a detailed instructions manual after the release of 0.14, where creators can really delve into the ins and outs of monetization and how they can implement it into their games because there is still a lot we haven’t talked about. Like the new way of saving games and creations, how to share servers and so on, but at least there’ll be something to look forward to ? It really is an exciting time to be an Ylander ? And so, until next time, Cheerio and stay classy Ylanders!

I really do understand your concern, but I don't have an official answer for you at this time... It is Early Access and we first have to try out, if creator monetization works as a concept and then we'll weigh all our options on how to proceed...

Ylands is broken & something needs to be said

I do get the gist of it, but to make this constructive and so we get moving on these issues (which we all want to do), what would help me the most is, if you made a seperate topic on each of these in the bug or suggestion sections (as you see fit) and set out, what it is, that is wrong or what you think could be improved. Then I can log it in the system and we can track and talk about each issue seperatly and make sure, we get them all addressed properly instead of listing them off and risking, that we miss something on the way. This way you'll be able to say "Hey, Adam, you lazy git! What's going on with issue YLD-xxx?!" and I'll be totally like *It's not my fault guys, really! I have some excuses! But I'll check on it and find out, what's up with that." And you'll be like "Cool bro, no worries, we really appreciate you." And I'll be like "Oh cool, I love you too." But you'll be "We didn't say love..." and then it'll be a bit awkward, but then we'll hug and it'll be all good...but yeah, if you could start a topic for each of these, that would be really helpful ?
  12. See how important it is to provide logs? Issues get resolved much faster then ?
  13. Adam Snellgrove

Ylands is broken & something needs to be said

I do think, that bringing me on and letting me go at it with my kind of approach and with my kind of attitude is BI trying to address this communication issue, that you have all felt recently. But, and I can only talk on behalf of myself...well I can talk on behalf of Ylands normally, but in this instance...that I'll definitely try not to be corporate with you guys and I think, so far, I haven't been. And concerning problems and issues that you mentioned, since I arrived, I have tried to address every bug and suggestion, though if I missed someone, I am sorry. And I also went a little bit back addressing some older issues. But I couldn't do the whole backlog, because a lot of these issues might have been resolved by then or otherwise solved, so if you have ANY persisting trouble or problems, PLEASE submit them again each separately into the suggestion or bug section with out_logs, screenshots and so on and so forth ? and I WILL address them (as I have all bugs since I came on). But if you do so, it will show us, what is still unresolved and what needs fixing. Now concerning struggles, one I can disclose right now is, that we are swamped with preparing update 0.14. because it is going to be a biggy, so it is very difficult addressing some of the bugs lately because the testers have their hands full with the update itself. But also some if not many of the issues experienced by some are planned to be addressed in 0.14, so it might be the case, that you'll report the issue and I'll get back to you, that it is being resolved just as we speak ? I think, that this has mainly happened in the interim of Community Manager change, where there really wasn't anyone to hold down the fort, but now it is up to us to start the conversation going again ? So if you write out the issues still giving you grief throughout the weekend, I'll log them in on Monday and we'll see, what can be done ? And i hope, that through the Ynterviews, Dev Diaries, #SelfieSundays and #WackyWednesday you'll see us as the humans we are, and not as the lizardmen, that have been sent by their reptilian overlords to prepare Planet Earth for the glorious and inevitable cold-blooded uprising! ALL HAIL THE SLITHERING MASSES!!!...ehm.

Take it as you please ?, but really it is a no for now.
  15. Adam Snellgrove

I can no longer submit feedback in game...

So we are receiving feedback normally, but it is always better when you send feedback directly to the Forums since we can ask you here additional questions and info. But Feedback should be working just fine ?

Very good suggestion and we will try and make this happen in update 0.15! Thanks ? Not yet, but soon ? Define funds ? If you mean real life honest dosh and money, then no, at least not yet. Not in 0.14 but we are aware of it and are investigating options for future updates. YES! But mainly functions for animals available in scripting and to define some basic attributes. That is my personnel #1 priority of course ? But only after I receive my request of a kilt into the game ??

    Interview Ynterview #1 - Clair

Every week we'll bring you an Ynterview with a member of our Ylands team. In our first Ynterview we have approached the incredibly talented Game Designer Svjatoslava 'Clair' Raskina. First off, what do you do here at the Ylands team and what’d you do before you joined? Hi! At Ylands I work as a game designer. After I left university, I worked as a receptionist in a 5* hotel for a short time, but I always knew I wanted to make games. How long have you worked on Ylands? What was the 1st thing you worked on when you joined? Almost for 3 years. I started here as a game tester. It was a very interesting experience, even though I’m now subconsciously looking for bugs in every game I play. The first feature I helped design were the game costumes. What do you find most exciting on Ylands in general? Our team! The best people I’ve ever met, seriously. And what is for you the most exciting feature coming in the new 0.14 update? The Playlands (ed. More about that in last week’s Dev Diary ? ) ! It is an amazing new feature. We’re doing our best so that our players love it. Special thanks to my fellow designers Rudolf Klenovsky and Prokop Lagner without whom this wouldn’t be possible. What are you working on right now? Now I’m working on the Codex, which will help new players quickly get used to the game, and even current players may learn something new. Also, I’m working on the Playlands. What do you do in your free time? I’m Always trying not to stay at home and to visit new places and cities. Of course, I play games on PC and mobile, draw when I have some inspiration, I am engaged in various sports and read a lot of books, especially about criminology and psychology. If you were brought up by animals, would you want them to be Flamingos or Moose? Why? ? Flamingos! I would definitely learn to keep perfect balance, standing on one leg. Well, there you have it. And if you missed our 'bonus question', visit our Facebook or Instagram ?

Monetization will work for creators, not players. So if a creator creates a game, he can monetize an aspect of the game, but players in the game won't be able to sell their things for Coyns to each other, only the creator through monetization. We are not planning on making it possible for players to sell their blueprints and compositions yet, though we are looking at ways this could be possibly done in the future (but definitely not before 1.0.)

I'll sneak you into the competition ?
  21. Thank you Shadow72 for the quick answer, and yes, we can confirm, that the trouble you're having is because you are playing a pirated version of the game. The easiest fix and the one we'd recommend is to buy the official version, where this doesn't happen. And if you do enjoy the game, there is an added bonus of supporting its developers ? https://store.steampowered.com/app/298610/Ylands/ Hope this helps ?

    Contest Screenshot Contest Week 2

Rightio, thank you all so very much for posting your screenshots, they are absolutely phenomenal, and now all that's left is for us to choose the winner...which will be very hard ? I wish you and you wish us luck ?
  23. Thanks for the logs, I'll get the team right on it.
  24. Hey there Puff, will try and get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for the logs. I'm sending it to the buggers ?
