  1. @ocnoglittle That's weird, as I can download it from my own comment just fine. I will try upload it again anyway but it takes at least 10 minutes as I have bad internet ughh YlandsItemIcons.zip
  2. Here's my complete library of icons that I had loaded onto the wiki if any one is interested YlandsItemIcons.zip

    vehicle suggestion

I suggested a low range option back when vehicles were first introduced so that we can cruise in 4WD around the rough terrain. I don't necessarily want to go from 0 to 100 instantly lol

Queue-type crafting UI tweak (maintain queue view)

I also find this irritating. Especially if I haven't fed the fire first, so then I have to go to the pending panel and click FEED which then makes it automatically go back to the crafting panel for some reason which means I have to click back on the pending panel again to click IGNITE and start the process. Way too many steps. Yes, it would be quicker if I remember to feed the fire first, but I generally don't. Bad habits I guess? But honestly, we don't really need to see the recipe each time we craft multiple in succession, I'd rather see how many slots are left to fill. It's only helpful seeing how many of a particular crafting item we have left in case we don't want to use them all up by accident.

    RESOLVED Moralibur name string display

Yes, I just found this too and can confirm it has the same name.
  6. So trying to start from scratch didn't work, I couldn't successfully start a new game without it starting me on the raft in the sea, even after deleting world progress. I had to delete the character progress to be able to start a new save properly. This must mean the bug was tied to my character and/or raft somehow?
  7. TLDR: * First game wouldn't load, forced to create 2nd game. * 2nd game loads with 1st character + inventory but spawns on bamboo raft out at sea in new map. * Deleting 2nd save file in Steam folders stops you from creating a new game until you use the Delete World Progress in settings. * 1st game could be opened through Recently Played Games menu only. * But after using Delete World Progress option causes 1st game to respawn you out at sea on the bamboo raft again. I did a bit of messing around and somehow got my original save game back! (kind of) I deleted the 2nd save file from the SaveGames folder. When I started Ylands and clicked Exploration, it still showed the 2nd save/map name but a popup appeared saying that my last session is no longer reachable and a trash can/rubbish bin icon was now next to the name. I can't start the game (no surprise). So I click that trash icon and then attempt to launch the original save from the Recently Played Games menu. But it does the same thing with the popup message except now there is no save games on the Region Map screen and I can't click on any of the ? tiles to start a new game. I then delete the original save game from the SaveGames folder and relaunch Ylands and it does the same thing with the message and not being able to click on any ? tiles. There is no name or trash can icon to click so this time I use the Delete Exploration Progress feature, quit Ylands, add the original save back into the SaveGames folder and relaunch Ylands. Now when I click either on Exploration or the save in the Recently Played Games menu it does the same thing as what happened to me originally when I posted this bug. It welcomes me to the new experimental exploration and tells me to start a new game after which I have my original character and inventory sitting on my bamboo raft floating out in the middle of the sea with the "I am not ready yet" eating bug. Something interesting happened after this. I added the original save file and the 2nd save back into the SaveGames folder and relaunched steam. This time when I click on Exploration, it launches the 3rd save like it should. I exit out to the Main menu and open all Recently Played Games menu. I select the 2nd save and it loads it but I am now a fresh spawn on a different island, so I had lost my character progress and it spawned me fresh instead of on my bamboo raft like it had the previous time. I exit back to the Recently Played Games menu. So I cross my fingers and select the original save and it loads! I have my original character and inventory but I am on my bamboo raft out in the middle of the sea with the "I'm not ready yet" bug. I raft all the way back to my spawn island and it is just as I had left it that first session, my smelting furnaces are still blazing away at some iron ore just as they were when I logged out that night. The only weird thing is that my raft is still there from that night, even though I just arrived on it, so there are now 2 rafts. So bizarre! Unfortunately, when I exit and then try to go back into it I get spat back out on my raft out at sea so I paddled all the way back to my spawn island again and waited until I died from starvation since I couldn't eat. I respawn successfully next to my base but still have the "I'm not ready yet" bug. I leave the game and reload the save and this time I am still on the island and not on my raft in the middle of the sea! But I still have the eating bug. I exit out and Delete Exploration Progress in settings and then I delete the 2nd and 3rd save files and try launch the original again but it spat me back out in the sea again. At this point I got hungry in real life and decided that I had spent enough time messing around. After all of that, I think if I play the original save but then delete the exploration progress it teleports me back onto my raft in a random location. If I don't delete the progress then I am where I should be but I can only access the game through the Recently Played menu. Either way I think the bamboo raft may have something to do with it maybe?
  8. Here ya go. There are three files in this folder. Two are from the first session, on the 15th, and the third is from the second session when I encountered this problem, on the 16th. (I'm in NZ so the time zone is GMT +13 if that clears up any confusion with dates/times). Let me know if there is anything else you need! I don't have the best internet connection so I'm not sure if that could have had anything to do with it not syncing properly when I exited the game? LogArchive.zip

    Update 1.5: Enhancing Exploration

I started playing the new 1.5 experimental exploration on Steam for a few hours yesterday and now when I try hop back on it makes me start a new game when I click on the button for exploration (experimental). I can actually see my save in the recently played games section but when I click on it I still get prompted to start a new exploration save. The save file is in the Steam > SaveGames folder on my PC too. I didn't use this Delete Progress feature at all. So I follow the prompts anyway and when it loads the new game I have my original character and inventory back but with what appears to be a newly generated map. It has spat me out at sea in a random location on the raft I had been using prior to exiting the session yesterday. I also have acquired the "I am not ready yet" bug and cannot eat and strangely can't reload my corn rifle. I quit this session and exit the game. I relaunch Ylands and now when I click on exploration it instantly loads up this newly generated map with my old character in it. Even when I click on my old original save, it still launches this new save. Is this an intentional feature of the experimental exploration or is this a bug that I need to report?
  10. Scrolling through the icons I have saved makes me so nostalgic for the old Ylands that had these simplistic menus. Look! Bones!
  11. Yup sure do! Roughly 1500 of them (that I painstakingly screenshot and edited the backgrounds out of) but I'm guessing most are outdated models now? Boy do I miss some of these things...
  12. Encountered this problem trying to launch the game, the loading bar reaches 100% and then hangs there for a minute before this error pops up. Fatal Login Error Backend Request Error (-100001) Occasionally it will sit there at 100% for a few minutes and then finally load into the main menu. It seems to give me this error several times before letting me into the game, it took 15 minutes of trying once. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt DxDiag.txt

    Remember when?

I haven't played Ylands in a very long time (over a year) and haven't been active in the community for even longer. This post struck me deep. I really do miss those old golden days. I've just recently tried picking Ylands up again and have somewhat enjoyed myself in Exploration but it certainly doesn't give me the same feeling as it used to. I miss the old Main Menu in it's simplicity, even the flying sharks to an extent! More for nostalgia's sake I think haha I really don't like how the islands are so uniformly placed on the map and how close they are to spawn that you can see them. Definitely ruins the thrill of setting sail into the nothingness hoping to come across a new island.

    Dev Diary #59

Happy New Years! It’s good to see work starting on an official wiki. Hopefully I can help with the creation of it as I have done on the unofficial one.

YES! Look at that FLEX and higher ground clearance too? I have been ready for this since vehicles first came out! I really hope for the option to engage and disengage between 2WD and 4WD. I suppose asking for Diff Lock and a Winch is a bit much but those would be features I’d love to see ?

    0.10: Clever Coding (27/08/2018)

Great to see another update to the game! Is there any news on the unique pet that was going to be gifted to the early Ylanders?

0.3 Wonderful Writing was when I joined, and it feels like forever ago but it really isn’t! What I remember the most was when the new weather system was implemented and being shit scared of the thundery storms ? as well as the cars, they were a heap of fun to test out

    DayZ survivors playing Ylands?

Used to play the DayZ mod back in the day a lot, you could almost say addicted to it. Many great times were had. Played the standalone for a bit but haven’t played either in a very long time. Griefers ruined it for me I think the most.
  19. There have been several times now where I have wished I could choose if a particular item could be eaten by a player or not. For example, turning a normally inedible item such as a shoe into an edible shoe. Why? Because it would be funny and it would open up a lot of opportunities for creating hilarious scenarios. It would also be good to turn off the edibility of a normal food item in some scenarios. Especially if it is a quest item and you can't afford the player accidentally eating it and not being able to get another, essentially breaking the scenario and preventing progress. The Indestructible option is a good start but it doesn't prevent you from eating it and destroying it that way.

    Making items unpickable

Just to add, I’m fairly certain not all things have this option available.

    P1 Building Contest #2 - Gameplay

Unfortunately the game mechanic I was thinking of using is currently bugged. I've posted it here: I'm guessing it won't be fixed in time for me to submit anything for this contest, oh well

    New Ylands GUI

After playing the new update for a bit I thought I’d throw my 10 cents in. I agree with most people about the transparency. It would be nice to be able to see, even vaguely, what’s going on around us when accessing inventories & crafting. The old style was nice because it was similar to having a periphery vision which is more realistic I guess? The same goes for trading and the dialogue between NPCs. I find it really ruins the immersion for me when transitioning between the normal speech bubbles to the dialogue “choose an answer/option” or to trading which take up the whole screen.

    RESOLVED I can eat forever

I haven’t tested whether you can definitely eat forever or if there is a “cap” or max satiation level. But I do know that each food item adds to your overall satiation for example those berries are only adding about 2 minutes to your hunger level, roast meat adds about 15 minutes before you get hungry again. And each subsequent food item you eat adds to that value. So if you eat 2 berries then you get about 4 minutes and if you eat 2 roast meat then you get 30 minutes of satiation.
  24. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the time or advance plant growth in a game by using game logic objects from the editor? I want to create a scenario where I can plant seeds and they grow super fast and not have to wait 5 game days for them to grow and mature naturally.
  25. Hmmm, I didn’t think of that. Funny because I’m using that same technique elsewhere but never thought to use it here. I think it was called Move Entity something or rather?
