    Crazy cool idea?

You can fabricate a bunk using pier supports and wooden beds. That one looks much nicer, though.

The new help area on RedEagles PVE server

I had been wondering about that. I've had a thought for the past few days about setting up a dedicated server for blueprint creation. No exploration, just an open flat area like in the Editor. Each person has their PB and a Creator Cube. Invite only, of course, to keep the rabble out. Just place the PB and establish a work area, build away, blueprint it, test the blueprint, knock it down and start a new one.

    0.9: Comfortable Cooperation (08/06/2018)

That's the one that drew my attention to it. There's at least one other (going just by YLD number) that's not in this list, though: Search not working for online games. It's possible that one rolled up under another item in the list. I was only being curious. As for the missing compass, I'm getting used to lining up my ship with the water itself. The lines in the geometry are clear enough.

Sounds great. Are the other fixes (items marked "Resolved" in the Bugs section) scheduled for a later update?

    Massive Art Deco building

RL things... check. Wanting to just relax and explore a few ylands... check. lol. Still, it's moving forward a little at a time.

    SUGGESTION: Edible/Inedible option in Editor

A feature like this would be helpful if we choose to build a structure using chocolate blocks or cheese blocks. They have interesting patterns and can look like other materials if painted the right color. Or perhaps we just want a "Candyland" building made of chocolate and don't want to accidentally eat it.
  7. @Ane Can we close and lock this topic please? It has run its course and become toxic.

    Just Remove The Option.

It sounds simple, but if the code is not set up to persist those coordinates, even if the player logs out and back in, it could get a little complicated to deploy. I'm sure they'll find an answer.

    Ship Control

Standard direction controls, WASD. Always relative to the direction the ship itself is facing. A is port (left), D is starboard (right) Many things default to facing away from you when you place them. I've just gotten used to either facing the back of the ship when placing (the masts do the same thing) or pressing K twice to rotate them 180.
  10. Mine usually are 8 (referring to the open space, not the placement of the ceiling, which would be at block # 9 in height).
  11. I had a thought a bit ago, with the talk about true cooperative modes and somewhat "large" scale trading/buying economies set up on some servers... Wouldn't it be interesting to have a sort of "bazaar" functionality, where a player could place items kind of like placing them in storage, set trade values for them, and allow any other players to trade with that little storefront at any time, even if the owner is not there. Visually, it could be a small table, with the offered items displayed on top (but not pickable). Fancy versions could have a colorful awning. The number of offered items would probably have to be limited. Storage for offered items and received items could be separate (or just virtually separate) and accessible by use of keys or combination locks.

A server where PVP is totally removed!

Sounds amazing, like Ylands PvE is supposed to be. I might wander in at some point. Playing with some Creative mode builds at the moment, though, things that would be too big for a MP server.

    A day building in Ylands

That is very impressive, and beautiful. Great work.

    Just Remove The Option.

I would only disagree with making ladders part of the ship hull. Once I have my propeller pack, I normally remove them for aesthetic reasons and to combat griefing. Can't do that if they're part of it. Anything that would be a barrier to the player, such as a wall or a door, should also be a barrier to any item interaction, including placing, picking up, sitting on, lying on, attacking, etc.
  15. Evidence, in case more was needed... Killed while offline (after being ambushed and killed at my base the first time) (I had only dropped in to see the condition of my base. Seems he killed me, took what I was carrying, and buggered off. Not that I'm interested in playing there any more.) edit: And I'm inclined to agree with kimbuck. We just need to give BI any info they need, and trust they'll do what needs to be done. I'm going to go play on my private islands now.
  16. So, "Jay"... Which one are you? Adolf or Conan? By the way, if a server is called "Explore" then it's PVE. Period. The PVP servers are named accordingly. Explore NA 9 is a PVE server.
  17. Probably also a good idea for those with PVTE servers to carefully screen the players requesting access. I know their ruse wouldn't last long, but they might try to "Trojan Horse" their way onto a private server, and there's no telling what level of power their hack/exploit gives them once they're in.
  18. From what everyone's describing, it sounds like a hack or a mod of some kind. If that's the case, then none of the public servers are safe, PVE or otherwise. To be able to unlock a door within someone else's PB, seemingly without a key? They would need to be able to view the door's properties, get the code, and make a key to exactly that code. It's a mod, or they have access to the server itself in the Editor. When I visited their base, the PB behaved exactly as it should have and I wasn't able to do anything except look around.
  19. After cooling down for a few hours, I've decided I'm done with NA 9. With my base compromised, and no good way to really secure it again, I can't do anything with it. I haven't been back, but I can only assume the trees and such are all gone, and the area around the base has been disfigured in some way. BOHEMIA: How about a wipe and complete reset on Explore NA 9? And we all need to seriously discuss what kind of moderation measures BI has in mind for the future. If it doesn't change, Online MP will be completely unplayable, and BI will lose players in droves. I'm going to fall back to SP for a while to clear my head, maybe try a couple huge builds.
  20. On NA 9, Conan is also a hostile. Found my base. Everything's locked, but I have to start over with my weapons and armor. Edit: I got a screenshot of their full ID, if anyone needs it. Another edit: Conan now has a GUN, by the way. It's mine. I'd like it back.
  21. Do you know where his base is? I'm on there, managed to get off spawn and build up a bit, and I'm feeling slightly sadistic today. Regarding moderating: If BI were to allow it, I would have suggested all moderators band together, exchanging offenders and evidence, and deciding on consistent and fair repercussions for repeat offenders. Maybe even in a locked subforum right here.

    Forum issues

For the past couple days (right up until right now) I have not been able to access it at all. I would always get the white page or the error.
  23. I have not tried all the various colors, but when I dyed some items white, it consumed the black pigment instead. (Online MP, Explore NA 10) There was also a momentary glitch where it only displayed the contents of my key ring as items that could be dyed. Edit: It might or might not be relevant that I was using the _White, _Black, _Red, etc pigments found on the color golem. I have not yet crafted my own pigments. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt
  24. I mentioned this in the update thread, but I figure this bug is worth its own since it affects exploration so much. After starting a new game after the update, I built my Large Ship as usual. When I grabbed the helm to sail it, the compass widget is missing from the upper right of the screen, and the Ylander does not animate as if he is grabbing the wheel. I have logged off the server several times, and restarted the game several times (including to sleep last night). There is no change. The compass is present when sailing the Boat, which I used to get off the spawn island. The issue is present for me on both online MP, and offline SP. (I tried it in Creative mode last night.) I've attached the logs from my brief online session this morning. I have figured out a temporary workaround, so navigation is not completely dead for now. I look at my map to see what direction I'm facing, unlock the ship's camera and point it the direction I want to go, then start moving and line up the ship with the camera. It's clumsy, but it will serve the purpose until this is fixed. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt
