And don't forget to pack a magnifying glass so that you can properly look into the mysteries awaiting you in the Update 1.7 - Marvelous Mysteries! With this update, you can dive right into discovering: - Mystery Ylands - Exploration Demo - Object Brush Tool - Exploration on Mobile - Tweaked Crafting - and many more QoL tweaks and changes! Wondering what some of these are all about? The new Mystery Ylands, unlockable for Exploration Points gained by finding random encounters on standard ylands, bring not only new challenges but a progression mechanic to Exploration. Solving the mysteries of these hand-crafted challenge zones, will reward players with a variety of rewards. In case you are still not convinced; we'll be offering an Exploration demo for everyone to try, right from the game itself! So if you want to know what all the fuss is about, just give it a try! It is not time limited and you can get the DLC straight from within the game without having to leave it, if you do decide to go for it! Others can visit you on your Starting Yland, but if you yourself would like to venture beyond the borders of your yland, you will need vessel in the form of the Exploration DLC. And don't worry, you can keep the progress you made using the demo! For all the Creators out there - fear not! We have added some sweet new tools to the Editor, like the Object Brush tool or the ability for custom UIs on mobiles. With Object Brush, you can skip the time consuming part of trying to fill an yland with items to make it look cooler, Object Brush will help you span a large amount of objects across your terrain or any other surface in a pattern you choose. Exploration is finally coming to mobile devices! That's right, now you can enjoy your well-deserved Ylands holiday...while on a bus, train or walking down the street. We do not recommend walking and playing, you may get attacked by a lamp, a street sign or even a random trashcan! There are some limitations for mobile players, such as terrain modification, but you can now start playing on your PC and continue on your mobile device as well (or the other way around!). When it comes to crafting, we have changed how it's presented to the players, to make sure crafting is less overwhelming and more to the point. Recipes have been split into core and optional, with core recipes getting unlocked with crafting progression, and optional recipes, which are mostly for decorative items, awarded for exploring random sites. You can now craft most items straight into the world, which is particularly useful for building blocks, so let your creativity off the leash and show us what you can do! Apart from brand new, shiny features, we also did some exterminating and got rid of bugs and altogether made almost 200 fixes! If there's anything else that you would like us to work on, please let me know, you are always welcome to send me a private message or post in the suggestions section here on the forum And trust me, I feel your pain, I play too and this is bugging me as well, it's not actually as easy to implement as it may seem, as we need to consider quite a few thing but we're definitely gonna reduce the amount of RMB spamming.

Hey there, Ylanders! As we're getting ready to launch the 1.7 update in about a week's time, we need to pause for a moment and acknowledge a specific group of our dedicated players. Before every release, an important part of the development process is the testing phase. And even though we put a lot of effort into testing ourselves, with a game like Ylands, which has many features and oh so much creative freedom, we are very grateful to our player base testing the experimental version because each of you uses the game in a different creative way and produces combinations of things we never even thought about! Especially now, when we are working on fixing issues reported by players using the pre-release experimental version, we wanted to express our gratitude and also encourage more players to take part in this testing in the future. We would love to hear from you if you knew about this testing being an option and if you're thinking about trying it out in the future! That's it for this week, Ylanders! Hey there, Ylanders! Remember those mysterious "Milestone scenarios" that we wrote about in the Yland Hopping dev diary? They are mysterious indeed, but they won't stay that way much longer because 1.7 is on its way to you! While we work on making this update marvelous, we wanted to let our wonderful creators know that we have not forgotten about them - on the contrary! To remind you what these Mystery Ylands will be all about, let us just say that it is a form of game progression that is coming to Ylands. You will be encouraged to explore far and wide, collect Exploration Points and then use those to access special ylands that contain a quest of sorts (we won't say more to not spoil them for you!). And because there is so much talent among our players, we thought it would be super fun to showcase it using the Creators Competition, which you have been asking about and we have been working on! The next Creators Competition will be all about Mystery Ylands and our jaws dropping to the floor when we see what you can do. We would love for you to be able to create these Mystery Ylands and put your brains in the most creative gear possible because not only will we have winners of great prizes (details coming soon!), but thanks to the capabilities of the editor part of Ylands, we will be able to make your creations an official part of the game. And we won't end there! Not only will we have a Mystery Ylands competition, we would like to incorporate Random Encounters into the contest so that you can use your compositions in a more individual manner if you don't feel like creating an entire yland. And once again, there will be winners and prizes, but also the Random Encounters that will make it into the game itself. We cannot wait to see what you will surprise us with this time around! Hey! The main reason really is the fact that we will now have "Exploration demo", where players can try what the full exploration will be like and can decide if they want to make the purchase or not. It makes more sense to us to have it in the game so that new players don't have to leave the game to get the full version of Exploration. In general, we are going to be streamlining the game as much as possible so that it's not as confusing as people have pointed out to us. If there's any feedback you have regarding anything that could help the player experience, we would love to hear it! ?

This is a part of an overall streamlining of the Ylands experience that we’ll expand on more below. The DLC is 20% off for the Steam Summer Sale, and will also be 20% off in the Ylands in-game store until the end of the Summer Sale event on July 8. If you already own the DLC, nothing changes for you! We’ve seen a lot of your feedback and we’re implementing many of the changes you’ve been asking for with our upcoming 1.7 update for the game. To ensure these new features are the best they can be, we’ve decided to push back the release date a week to July 8th. We know you’ve all been waiting for these changes, so we apologize for making you wait longer! This extra week will give us more time to polish these new elements and make the Ylands experience better for everyone! This release date adjustment is a part of a larger plan to shift our focus on making the current version of Ylands the best it can be for you, our players! We’ll be revealing more details on this plan in the future, but the main thing is that our next 1.8 Update will be entirely focused on quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and an overall streamlining of the Ylands experience. Tool management should now be much easier with an extended toolbox space, so that you can fit all of the knives, axes and chisels in there! Yep, that’s right, you can now add those three items to your toolbox as well! And don’t forget about the amazing Mystery Ylands! You will be able to unlock those using Exploration points you will be collecting on your travels, and when you solve the mystery, the yland will reward you handsomely with new recipes, more Exploration points and valuable resources.
