  1. UPDATE! So to try get around this problem I started a fresh map in the editor and added my game logic compositions back into it and tested it again. This time it was all fine, it loaded without a hitch. Hurrah! But as soon as I added a Play Area logic into the world, it gave me the same problem as before! Loading screen gets stuck (although this time it was at 11.1%) but I can still hear the game in the background and move around! Once I restarted the game I went back to the Editor and deleted the Play Area logic and BOOM! The game would load again not a problem! To confirm it even further, I loaded up my original game and deleted the Play Area logic and guess what? It fixed it! Seems like this Play Area logic is the culprit giving me grief here. Not sure why though, anyone else know what I might be doing wrong or is it just a bug? I suggest that players avoid using the Play Area logic and that devs have it removed from the game until it is fixed. As a side note ... when you place the Play Area logic it is clearly defaulting to a block shape but when you double-click it to check its properties it shows that it is set to sphere. Also, you can't change it to a sphere anyway, it simply won't let you even if sphere is selected as it just stays as a block shape instead. output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt

    New Ylands GUI

    After playing the new update for a bit I thought I’d throw my 10 cents in. I agree with most people about the transparency. It would be nice to be able to see, even vaguely, what’s going on around us when accessing inventories & crafting. The old style was nice because it was similar to having a periphery vision which is more realistic I guess? The same goes for trading and the dialogue between NPCs. I find it really ruins the immersion for me when transitioning between the normal speech bubbles to the dialogue “choose an answer/option” or to trading which take up the whole screen.

    I can eat forever

    I haven’t tested whether you can definitely eat forever or if there is a “cap” or max satiation level. But I do know that each food item adds to your overall satiation for example those berries are only adding about 2 minutes to your hunger level, roast meat adds about 15 minutes before you get hungry again. And each subsequent food item you eat adds to that value. So if you eat 2 berries then you get about 4 minutes and if you eat 2 roast meat then you get 30 minutes of satiation.
  5. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the time or advance plant growth in a game by using game logic objects from the editor? I want to create a scenario where I can plant seeds and they grow super fast and not have to wait 5 game days for them to grow and mature naturally.
  6. Hmmm, I didn’t think of that. Funny because I’m using that same technique elsewhere but never thought to use it here. I think it was called Move Entity something or rather?
  7. I’ve been playing around in the Editor and came across this bug. When using an Event Listener and selecting the Spawn Entity action, it won’t allow you to choose an item. You can’t click or drag and drop an item from the menu into the little box where it should go. This essentially stops you from using this game logic. Unfortunately I’m away from my PC so can’t upload my logs right now. I had a chat with@Stephenw1992 and he can confirm it is broken for him too.   8. Yes, even craftable fertilisers would be freaking awesome. Both for in everyday Exploration mode games as well as for in custom games.
  9. It's so weird, my character is in the game, I can hear everything but I can't see anything except for the loading screen! Even when I go back through the custom game menu, it shows a thumbnail of my character in that world.
  10. I realise that this is indeed an intentional mechanic in the game, how empty bird nests will "respawn" eggs and feathers. However, this is causing me some problems. I wish to use an empty bird nest in a particular scenario where it is to remain empty, but it has now become impossible as over time the nest will "respawn" eggs/feathers which I don't want. It is my suggestion that there is a checkbox option in Editor that allows users to select whether or not the nest regenerates eggs and/or feathers or to stay empty. It would also be particularly handy, in my case, that there be an option for the nests to be pickable or unpickable too. In fact, it would be great if all items have both of these options available - why do only some items?

    Private message @Ane if you want a confidential discussion about a bug or exploit. Unfortunately eating unwanted items has been a common occurrence. Usually linked to some latency issues on MP servers I think.

  14. Never had that happen to me in creative mode. Is your instance in creative or have you placed a creator cube using editor into an exploration game? Also your output logs might help the devs out in solving this bug.

    Dyeing Station

    Ok I'm not sure if this is what you were experiencing but I have now encountered this interesting bug. I open the dyeing stand and select an object, and then magically my seed box, herb bag, pigment jar and soil container disappear! Only the coal basket remained. Exiting and re-opening the stand doesn't work although I found shuffling the boxes around the slots in the inventory seemed to make them reappear in the Dyeing stand. In one screenshot you can see that they are there, and then the next shot they have gone. EDIT Except it won't let me upload the 2 screenshots *facepalm* "There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200" message pops up grrrr Andddd I can't upload my log files either

    Dyeing Station

    I have found that if you select a rather large item, like the seed box or soil container, that it blocks your view of your character. So if you change the item you want to dye to say, your shirt, you can't see it because the seed box is still in your hands. The only work around I've found for that is to re-select the large item, and click on it again in the left slot of the "Item to Dye" box in the top right corner. This puts you back to empty hands and you can choose another item to dye without the large item obstructing your view. Is this what you are referring to?

    Dyeing Station

    I'm not quite sure what exactly it is that you are experiencing. Can you post screenshots? When I open the Dyeing Stand it brings up all of the dyeable items including my clothing/armor even with a full inventory, I don't have to empty any of my containers.

    Enough is an enough!

    I'm fortunate enough to have only encountered "friendly's" on the public servers. But I am all too aware of how awful griefers can be when I used to play DayZ Mod a lot. One person can just ruin the whole playing experience completely and I feel this is what has killed DayZ in the long run. Have any new public servers been created in PvE yet? Hopefully PvE at least stops them from killing people. Unfortunately it doesn't stop them from griefing and destroying what you've created.

    Spyro Reignited Trilogy because nostalgia! But also Death Stranding which I’ve been following for a long time. I love how Kojima pretty much hasn’t told anyone what the game is going to be and only releases weird as f#*k trailers. Totally intriguing stuff.

  22. I've noticed on numerous occasions that using right-click/equip from your inventory doesn't always work. The item you equip to the hotbar slot 0 briefly appears in the avatars hand and then disappears quickly, slot 1 (bare hands) stays active. This usually results in me punching things I didn't intend on punching. In this example I pick up some tall grass, open my inventory and right-click on my iron shovel, the shovel shows briefly but my active hotbar selection stays as slot 1 bare hands instead of changing to slot 0. Note that the icon for my shovel is still in the hotbar in slot 0 where it should be, it just doesn't get selected after equipping it from the inventory. This has also happened when taking item from chests and then trying to equip another item but I can't quite figure out what might cause this to happen. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt

    Palm leaf panel for huts

    I would love to see a new set of building panels made out of rainforest palms, rainforest plants, and philodendron leaves that could be combined with rope and sticks to craft roofs for huts. Alternatively hay could be used to make a thatch style roof. There could be straight and different angled panels used for constructing the roof of a hut and then the existing bamboo panels could be used for the walls for example. This would make building early game shelters a lot easier, especially for those of us who aren't the best at building. They would also look awesome. I trialed a hut roof out of rainforest plants in the editor but it looks silly as its the whole plant being used. Ideally you could use a knife or something to chop off some of the leaves from the palms and rainforest plants and craft them into panels or sheets. I realise there are straw blocks in the game already but that's exactly what they are: blocky. I'm thinking thinner, more organic looking panels with the overlapping fronds. If that's even possible to do in Ylands, I have no idea but it would be cool nonetheless.
