Date: Somewhere end of May / start of June 2017 Location: Unknown, but tropical. My name: A3_Melle (from the Netherlands) Entry 1: I washed on shore on this tropical Yland, not knowing where I am. Last thing I remember is my yacht getting struck by a big wave. This Yland has lucky for me enough resources to stay alive: 1) Water and food enough: fruits, vegetable and meat (even fish, besides the sharks in the ocean). 2) Resources like: wood, bamboo, iron, copper, rocks, clay and enough cotton to create clothing. I have created some boxes from bamboo to store some of my supplies of food, even though it is enough for several good meals I still try to eat only wen needed and making sure I get good vitamins and minerals. I have now started to create some tools to survive and build, a little shelter, first things first: I need to be careful looking for supplies as I noticed that some predators are lurking in my direction. For now I am creating some flat ground, and created some “work stations”, I can melt iron/copper ingots and dry the cotton and create cloths, even created an iron workstation, this way I can create some harder iron tools. Also when I took down the tree’s and bamboo I planted the new seeds, and I don’t know what is wrong with this Yland but it grows real fast even vegetables grow fast here, it must be the outstanding climate. Also I found an entrance of a cave, walked in a few hundred meters and found this strange green crystal, I have never seen or heard of it, so for now I will call it a Ylandium crystal, even in the cave there were some strange mushrooms who are giving light. I have been stuck for several days deep in the caves, I found some “blue crystals” but most strange was this that there were over 50 “mutated leopards” at the bottom of this cave, it was a big fight but I tried to take them on 1 by 1 in a ambush location, smart of me to take some food, tools Aloa vera and a sword down in the cave because it was all needed! And the strange thing was that the mutated leopards had mutated bones, to compare: it was a regular leopard with some greenish crystals on it (might be buy the Ylandium crystals I have found) Light was no problem, even though I had my torch there were these “glowing mushrooms” wich gave enough light to see a few meters around it. For now I killed over 60 mutated leopards in the cave, and for now I don’t see anything alive anymore, I have now gone back to the surface to unload my resources found in the cave. For now my learned survival skills from the past have been a real life saver so far, I got a big pile of wood ready to fire up when I see (or hear) a ship/plane/helicopter, also on a walk around the Yland I found out that I am not the first person here, I found some statues and even a shipwreck with some supplies (mostly meat and clothes), and in a far distance I can see bird flying around above the sea, so it might be possible that there is land near my Yland. For now this is my first entry and I don’t know when the next one will be, I am now building my bamboo fence to keep the predators out and I can catch some good sleep, instead of sleeping with 1 eye open next to a campfire. When the fence is ready I will be starting to build a shelter/house and I hope on and off to enter some more lines to the entry book. Greetings A3_Melle

No it will only use the Ylands.exe command fron your normal ylands folder steam will create a shortcut on your steam games list wich is just your normal ylands.exe command

You can play trew steam, you can add the game as "non steam game" and people can see what you are playing wenn you are using the steam shortcut

Ha ha ha i know what you mean and that "alt" for look around is a BI button for looking around in several of their games (ARMA, Dayz, Project Argo).

@Ane i tried to find Ylands on Crowdin but got no luck, or is it a "closed project" and i need a invite link?

I can confirm this bug! I have the same thing on 1 of my earlier explorer missions.

I have not really been busy with the editor yet but buildinga "new" Yland would possible also mean you have to build your own caves, maybe wenn content creating and sharing is possible people can upload "finished" caves for other to use and place in the editor, maybe 1 of the devs or other users of the editor can give a correct answer if you need to create your own cave or if it is preset on your Yland in the editor.

I have not found saltpetre on my Yland yet, but in the past I found them just below te surface on a Yland, building my new accommodation first after that I will be heading out on the sea, looking around on my Yland made me see alot of birds in 3 directions so new Ylands are near

And you can also find some Intel in this topic: Coal @Aleš Ulm als gives the answer that they are/were working on a good distribution for the resources wich still needs some tuning

The plants like cotton en flux can be planted, break the plant and you wil get 3 seeds, plant those seeds and harvest them, break again and plant and so on until you got the quantity you need + a bit extra for backup (to seed again wen needed). Ylandium should be in a cave somewhere, I just had a huge cave and what I only found was 2 Ylandium crystals, but a massive amount of mutated leopards and killed them all for the mutated bones (break and you will get Ylandium dust). Ylandium is 1 of the resources you will find rarely unfortunately but each explore map will have Ylandium and you just need to find it, and yes that can be a bit frustrating.

Looking fowerd to 0.4 and the "project X" you are working hard on. Already working on that "survival /captain's log" will not be a daily notifiction but more a write up of what I have done during a few hours of playing Ylands explorer first post should be up this weekend

Just send me the text you want translated and I'll do as much as possible @Ane it would make the game much easier for the smaller dutch kids

Hi @Ane I think i have seen dutch translation in the early days of Ylands but is that coming back or if needed I can help out translate wenn needed, even though I know there are some dutch employees at BI (getting more each year with the Amsterdam office)

@wilcojohn you can find it in caves but not every cave unfortunately, sometimes you will run in to it real easy and the other time you have to dig after seeing a little glimp on the surface between the rocks.

I had some luck.... found 2 pieces just a few hundred meters in a cave, went further down and ran in to a pack of mutated panthers (killed 10 already and more keep coming) and to busy fighting them off, i love the katana sword (did a new explorer mission to get some animal activities, and kinda regret that now ).

Found another horse bug, don't know why it happens but it just happens Created a little video of the bug:

Well you got riding a horse and doing rodeo and this is more rodeo than horse riding

Ran in to that visual bug a few times now, could see exactly where and how my caves underground were going and what was in it

The higher you go the colder it gets i already found that out the hard way

Wenn using the bow (draw it to shoot) and than dropping it while the rope is pulled this happens: This is a static position cant switch gear/tools anymore, and wen forced manually (in the inventory moving stuff around) you get the error of the boat......
