RESOLVED [YLD-10513] Blue Print is Stuck

It has been a plague on the P1 servers all weekend. Well, longer than that, but seems to have increased.
  2. This has been a problem since the 0.10 update, I think. Signs do not show text at night. You might get a brief flash of the text, then nothing. They work well during the day, but not in the dark. This is a problem for dedicated servers because we often need to convey information, such as discord addresses and server rules. A better option would be if we can eventually have messages in game, but until that is possible, signs are really the only way to communicate with new players. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt

    P1 PVE Survival Party

P1 survival party tonight, 630 pm pacific standard time (GMT-8) Last week, we managed to get a nearly full workshop completed, and I think one of our peeps got a ship made. Tonight? I'm thinking we need to hunt some bear and panthers.

    Rental Servers

I personally use Nitrado. It's pretty easy to set up, I knew nothing, and had a game up and running with almost no tears They are pretty inexpensive as well. I just rented a server inside the game from BI. I used the coyns I had already. (You can buy more using your steam wallet.) It seems pretty good, it was also easy. Though it is more expensive. ETA: The performance is great. The game is smooth, no jaggy rubber banding, fps is running 50-60 on ultra. Really nice. HOWEVER. And this is the reason I searched for this topic. I can't see how to get a saved copy of my map. And it's a really cool map, I'd like to save it. @Ane Is there a way to get a back up file? Cons: it seems to lack the ability to edit or save a back up on my computer. I also don't see a way to restore a file if you need to for some reason.

Is this MP or SP? Are you trying to grow any plants on the ship?

    I need more stuff :)

Dear Devs, I will preface this with the caveat that the game needs to be built first. I understand that is the priority. But we need more stuff. More furniture, more clothing, more decor items. I'm also wondering about being able to make mods of these items on the player level. Is this going to be a possibility? I am also happy buying stuff packs in the coyn store. I just need more stuff. I feel like I am building and decorating the same room all the time. This will be unsustainable in the long term. And why is the purple armchair not craftable already? And we need companion pieces to it. Thanks, looking forward to 0.12!

    building material suggestion: Mud Brick

I agree. Also IRL you can make clay from mud. This would be a great option on the biomes that don't have clay. Either have mud bricks or be able to craft clay from soil. Maybe 20 soils to 1 clay. It would take some time, but it could be useful.

    Dev Diary #62

This is interesting. As a survival game, once you are well armed, it's not too hard. I think there are adventure seekers who would appreciate this. I don't agree that the gold rush game was a mistake. I just think there are too many of them. Cut them down to maybe two per region, you don't need 100 of them. That was also a problem in the old style official explore maps. Too many. I would still like to see those make a comeback, but under some kind of control. Mods to control griefing. The ability to share Power Barriers for team play. Thanks for the update!

Yeah, @jchobs has gone to the dark side.
  15. I need a toolbelt. Half my inventory is tools and weapons.
  16. I have heard of the clay pot bug. Perhaps it is under review?

@ComR I guess you don't read the forum very thouroughly. There are lots of suggestions and complaints. The Devs as far as I know have never promised modding? At least in early access. There has been mention of monetization of player creations at some point. I read that as modding, but I could be wrong.

Wow, thanks @Aleš Ulm, lot's to think about here! I know these things are subject to change, but are you anticipating 0.12 to be the final update before 1.0?

What's your experience with P1 so far?

Our first one this weekend will be a friendly competition for bragging rights. First team to get a four sail ship with locks wins. Completely vanilla.

What's your experience with P1 so far?

Back in the dark ages of last year, I first found @Baz Foobar had a server. I found some fun friends including @kimbuck. She and I had a shared interest in making this a fun game, welcoming to everyone. We both saw the promise of community building through it. During that time, I was trying to learn to build, and @RedEagle_P1. helped me get in to the building server he had at P1 ( which still exists, HMU for the password!) @RedEagle_P1. would pop into the Foobar discord and invite us to parties and the like. He doesn't see different groups as being competition, he sees them as comrades in arms. When Baz Foobar decided to close his server, there were about five of us left without a home. Some tried a private server, and I think life gets in the way. Most of those folks are not playing as far as I know. Red offered us a home. I had been playing around in a minor capacity in his roleplaying games so I had built a rapport with him. I had some hesitation because I didn't get (and honestly don't get) the whole role playing thing. He offered us a server to play vanilla pve without all that. I agreed to be the admin of the PVE and he taught me the basics. Red has been a mentor, not only to me, but to many. His passion is to build community. I have felt welcomed, and as @MyPa553ng3r_P1said, family. There are ups and downs for sure. That happens in family. But there is so much talent, and so many helpful people. Shameless plug: We are debuting a new PVE weekly party.
