I’ve had mutants drop from the ceiling too but you can normally see them sticking through the terrain already on the roof. This seemed totally different in that they were way way further up than that.

Going to resurrect this thread because after starting a fresh explore game in 0.7 I was using the first person no-clip bug to search for caves. Something looked strange so I went into the editor to investigate. This is what I saw. Nearly all of the mutated animals were "floating" in the ground above the cave systems. There's a possibility this may have contributed to the OP's experience of not having many mutated animals in their caves. I'm not sure whether or not the animals will fall back down or not either, I'm not really game enough to check it out without gearing myself up first in case a bazillion mutants attack me from above!

It says in the post that you need to create a new explore map OR download the composition from the workshop and use the editor to place it into an existing 0.6 world ” It is now possible to find NPCs(mostly to trade with) in the newly created Explore games. However, NPCs can be setup to perform much more - you can check out some of them acting as quest-givers in the updated Wild West game available through our Workshop. If you want to have at least some NPCs in your current Explore game, you will, at least, be able to get a vendor NPC Composition from the Workshop and put it in your game through the Editor.”

I realise this is an older post but I think the 0.7 update has added that feature of jumping to a specific character in the editor. Maybe give it a go now and reunite with your pals? [Editor] Added "Any player" as a target of actions [Editor] Added "Go to the character" option

NPCs only spawn on new explore games. I haven’t had a chance to play on the new update yet but from what I read on the change log it sounds like you can load a scenario/game from the workshop and then load that in your editor to then place NPC vendors into your existing worlds. “If you want to have at least some NPCs in your current Explore game, you will, at least, be able to get a vendor NPC Composition from the Workshop and put it in your game through the Editor.”

Will this actually break the crops and drop their loot on the ground? I haven’t really played with vehicles much but I do remember you can run into animals and they will get hurt/die but not sure about plant life? Would be epic if it does!

RESOLVED Bug: Underwater fauna on land
handofthesly replied to Maqqea's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Yup, flying sharks are a very common issue and have kind of become a popular meme on Ylands ? -
Beautiful! Now this got me thinking, it would be awesome if we could fish or read books/maps or even eat while sitting on chairs and stools.
-
Oh dear! Only thing you can do if you want it back is to load this save into the editor and move the ship back to where it should be, in the water! ?
-
We won’t be sure until the day unfortunately, unless a dev is kindly enough to answer some of your questions beforehand! Hopefully they give us heaps of control over NPCs in editor and lots of options like whether or not it will be passive or aggressive, change its inventory and trade options, set paths and areas that it can roam, dialog etc etc. I’m assuming there will be an option to add NPCs into any world that you can load into the editor

I thought it was odd when I counted and found it wasn’t centred quite right, I might have to retest it when I’m not half asleep! ? EDIT: I've gone back to test it and it appears to still be 82x82x82. Why they decided to have it off centre really confuses me. Here's some pictures to show how I counted it, I used baroque stone blocks which are 2x2 blocks wide, as you can see the pattern is not symmetrical.
-
I thought it was wrong when I kept seeing this 30x30 size being posted around the place. From my measurements, the actual size is 82x82x82 blocks (as in the smallest block size we have currently). I've also found that the PB generator is not truly in the centre of the entire protected area and that there is more protected area above the generator than below it (55 blocks above and 27 blocks below). Strangely enough it is also not quite horizontally centralised either, there is 42 blocks going left of the PB and 39 going right (not including the block it is placed on).

Co-operation, is it becoming contagious? We hope so

@kimbuck I sure did, and you have a beautiful base! I've been trying to renovate my base but keep running out of patience with it -

Nice, you found it! It was my aim to help new comers, especially since some resources can be scarce on spawn now I aim to do this on the new world when Ylands updates to 0.7 -
I guess you’d need to find the RGB or HEX colour code for the stone blocks by using the colour picker on the paint gun and then replicate them onto the sandstone blocks with the paint gun

Lots of great suggestions here! ? -
Show off! ? but seriously this looks amazing

I was going to say the same thing, and I’ve only found them because of the 1st person camera no clip trick through the walls. For me, most of the mutated animals and crystals are far, far down the cave system and not in the top half at least

Was this single player or online multiplayer on a server? Resources get snatched up quick in multiplayer. I have noticed though in single player that some Ylands have very few crystals and mutated animals while other Ylands have heaps and heaps of both. Luck of the draw perhaps?

Yes you can freely pass through and interact with everything. It only stops them from killing you while you are logged off and stops them placing blocks other than dirt and stops them from destroying items. They can still loot your chests if they aren’t locked. They are wanting to improve the features in another update. I hope I wasn’t one of those casualties while offline ?
-
It pops up as a bubble above your character so other players can only see it if they are looking at you, I’m guessing those players are currently offline. I saw quite a few when playing the server and planted a bunch of plants around them ?

I try to replant about half of what I take for myself and scatter it around the area so the resource never runs out.
