are you using steam or microsoft version?  With Steam it's an easy fix. Uninstall the game, log into steam and then re install it.

It's a steam version so thanks a lot! Seems like an easy fix. Will not be able to confirm though, because yesterday was the last time for me to play for a few days. But I do believe it's going to work! Thanks @spiritchaser28

  2. I had to play as a guest when I was trying out an experimental branch and now I would like to play on my own account. Which seems not possible anymore. I am now logged as "Guest1234" I think and I found no "Log out" button. However, I suppose the Link button under the Profile tab should be used in that way? When I enter my age (why?), email and password, this comes up

I checked both my email (yes, it's the only one I use without a typo) and password. Could log in to Bohemia site with it. It was the same in my password manager. Still didn't work. So I changed it. Again, logged into my account on the Bohemia site but the game still gives me that popup.

I can normally log here on the forum to my Workshop page.

The mobile devices (even the average ones,  not just the top tier) can now handle even demanding, sophisticated games and so it‘s my pleasure to announce that Exploration is coming to mobile devices as well.

    (...)

We will release more information about mobile Exploration specifics in the upcoming weeks.

Most players will be interested in the maps getting bigger, but this is a very promising for me!

I said on multiple occasions that I play Minecraft quite a lot. By that I did not mean the Java (PC) Edition but the mobile version. By my estimate I have about 200 hours in the PC version and about 1500 hours on mobile. It's more comfortable for me. Inbetween airplane transits, when I'm sleepy, whenever I don't have my computer with me. Also, I'm very average user of computers but I would say I know my way around Androids ? Which means that my phones are no way much behind my computers ?

I didn't find the right reason for me to keep more than Gb on my phone occupied by Ylands app. If it has Exploration? I'm sure it will be amongst the first apps I would install on a new phone. Even with lesser graphics or limited multiplayer ?

    Looking forward to it!

  4. Hello again!

I've been an Ylander for quite some time, since the end of 2015, but I'm lately more active on the forum than in the game itself.

It's actually quite grotesque how quarter of my life had Ylands in it. I remember being quite excited about the update Classy Containers, finally giving us more space to store things than just the ground. I was actually so excited that I started rambling about it to the girl I was just outside with. She had no idea what Ylands was before (of course) ? Fast forward few years and we are spending the time in pandemic together with me playing Ylands and her nudging me when I hit the coast on my raft ?

I was was upset about some changes to the game (f2p, 1.0 being just a number, focus on minigames, unbaked mobile port) and the reason I played in the past was solely Exploration. I look very optimistically into the future though and if the Exploration is going to be fun to be played even in singleplayer (already fun in multiplayer according to forum members) I may join back in the fun ?

The thing I enjoy in Ylands (and universally in any game that allows me to, especially Minecraft) is building and constructing, may it be a house, a road that leads to it, or the story of me figuring out where to put it. I like to slowly grow and see what all am I capable of doing. I like the minivictories of digging up a diamond or dino skull (I'm not sure if either of those is in the game still), of seeing the flowers on my farm grow, of finally putting the last piece of roof in its place, of figuring out how to wire the logic circuit to my doors.

The thing I enjoy outside of Ylands is drinking tea in tearooms, drinking coffee in bed and playing some nice card and board games with friends or strangers. I also play some tennis and I currently study psychology in Prague ?

And my favorite pun? Oh, that's hard... Have three instead!

(and Exploration fans are in for a big treat (wink) ).

Wink, eh? Based on how much you had to hold your tongue on the stream not to say what it is that you work on for the 1.7 and clues that more objectives to complete for Exploration players are coming... I would guess some form of final boss? Perhaps the source of the ylandium mutations all over the ylands? With the new prefabricated Ylands, it could be a great goal to reach and explore the twisted, dark Yland where the biggest danger of all dwells. Maybe locked to be found after you find/craft/solve something on other basic ylands. But I'm just spitballing right now! ?

But I always like to guess ?

  6. I really enjoyed reading this sincere sounding Dev Diary. I'm glad you're still working on Ylands and are actively making changes to restore Exploration. I never left this forum but I have not played as much recently as I did before. Last few updates were just tested by me for one afternoon or two, but I'm really looking forward to 1.6 and 1.7. I may give it a go with a proper new world.

At the same time, we will let even those who don’t own Exploration to try it in a limited way (currently we’re thinking of limiting them to their starting yland, however, we will allow other players to visit them - if they own the DLC).

This sounds very interesting! I was one of those concerned about transition to f2p and Explore sidetracked by not being in the main game but in the form of a DLC. But this potential new incorporation of Exploration to the free game with "pay if you enjoy" model is promising!

I'm really sorry for the loss of a portion of players but I wish the best luck to you and the game. For brighter days of Ylands ☀

  7. Thank you for the work you've done here. Your enthusiasm was something that shaped Ylands experience for many people playing and you listened to all concerns and feedback Ylanders offered. You've managed to calmly talk down disputes about the game or in the community itself.

You are an important piece of the Ylands world. May your way be paved with tea and cookies ?

PS: The new ship looks very nice! If I decide to try out the new Exploration, it may be my home vessel ?

  8. Amazing!

I really like this realistic castle ? If I was ever to build or create something similar (that means realistic European middle age castle) where should I learn the basics? Is there any interesting online source from which I can learn all the necessary parts of castle, how were they build, used etc.? I'm looking for some resource better than a childs book about knights (ehm, not that I would not like them still! ?) and less complicated than engineering and true architectonic plans.

    Where did you learn? ?

  9. Yes, I hope that I got better at building in Ylands over the years ?

My biggest leap was probably my brother pointing out once for me that I still build like I was in Minecraft even though it's Ylands. Very big grid in my head even though I can shrink it and detail it more with both shape and textures.

Not bad.  It looks a little bland,  but tbh I couldn't do better without the editor.  Also good job for a 2016 build.

I find it hard to believe how bad is Chinese Tencent communicating about a big problem.

And very very infuriating that they do it under Ylands name.

PS: Just to be clear, I know that pretty much nobody of you tagged can do anything about it. I just want you to see this. I don't think the cooperation with Tencent was any good idea.

It will wary much more, we've also added continental landscapes so large ylands can spawn sometimes. Although we're still tweaking probability and size.

There is one planned, but that will probably be something for after 1.6.

Yes, the coastline should be very different. We've also added the atoll landscape. We still want to tweak the mountain size but its landscape specific so we'll see.

Not yet, we'll maybe touch upon it after feedback from 1.5.

    Not in the near future.

Not in 1.5, but we might be able to add summoning and unsummoning of land vehicles as it will work with ships now. But we'll first see what the feedback is on this.

    Hope these answers help ?

I've been playing this game since it was released to early access in Steam. I had watched a let's play series by Keralis and it looked fantastic. I had followed Keralis for years playing Minecraft, but I only played on creative as there were too many creatures trying to kill you in survival for me to enjoy it, instead I loved the building part. This game seemed to be the answer for me, it had great graphics, an engaging resource and crafting system, and a tongue in cheek humor that I really enjoy. I was also able to play in the regular exploration mode which was really exciting and made you work a strategy to accomplish your goals. However, when I finally decided to go to multi-player, I wasn't very impressed at all. Other players became the ones who kill you, take all the resources, and just make it difficult to enjoy. Then I found the P1 group and MP changed completely. Now, after all the concentration on the editor, I'm hoping we can get the exploration MP part working correctly. I've heard rumors that perhaps BI isn't in creative control of their own game any longer, due to a large sponsor. I hope this isn't the case, but if it is, what can we expect in the future? I personally enjoy the exploration, I really enjoy the "magic" that other players can make in the editor, but that isn't necessary to the enjoyment of the game. If, in fact, BI is no longer in control of their own creative process, please let us know what direction your sponsor is taking this game. If you are in creative control, perhaps you could end up with 2 products, the editor and the exploration. Due to all the things that need fixed, I've actively looked for another survival sandbox game to learn and get immersed in. But I haven't found another that I like as much as Ylands, plus, there isn't another gaming community that I've found that compares to the ones that Ylands has attracted. Please consider being more transparent with the players who have been with you, rooting for you, helping every way they can to make this game a success. I would love for this exploration game to be an enjoyable, exciting time, rather than a very frustrating time. And I'm sure the more people we have playing exploration (not destructive people), the more people will become interested in learning the editor to enhance their enjoyment of the game. I appreciate your time reading this.

    I wholeheartedly agree with this.

I do not know what The Spirit of Ylands is. Quo Vadis, Ylands? I have a hard time getting to know Ylands. Which is difficult to say considering I've been with Ylands more than four and a half years. At the start, I felt the potential. All was new and buggy, sometimes unbalanced (waiting an hour for nine ingots, if I remember correctly?). As I was slowly getting to know the game, I fell in love. Classy, calm, serene, and charismatic. Top hats, monocles, mustaches and sunsets in the color of industrialization. The game was about being washed ashore on a deserted island and slowly creating your own story (there was even an idea of one survivor dying and another character washing ashore after him to unravel its own story instead of respawning). Ylandium served as a mystical and powerful new element with its distinctive glowing green. The game seemed to be themed around magic meets ylandium steampunk. All of that is lost. Allow me not to phrase it as an opinion. I think the game slowly lost its scope by adding more and more different and most importantly not anyhow framed features. I do not understand the ylands world.

Who are we? Why is there a center island surrounded by others? Why are there many different NPCs all eager to trade with us or annihilate us? Why am I here? What am I supposed to do here? Am I a lone survivor or is it just normal that I'm here? Is this fantasy with all the different races? Did this world come through all the historical epochs as ours did? How are we supposed to create our own story in a world that doesn't seem to have its?

And why are those questions even important? I'm not immersed and I probably won't be. Most things in-game don't feel like a part of the world. I do not know where is ylands heading. Should I expect a farming update? Or space update? Or smartphone update? I'm lost. The atmosphere of the Ylands is lost for me.

This is a quotation from one of my older posts that sums my feelings about the game.

Other than that, I can only say -

I'm sad and disappointed of Ylands. Mainly because I still love the game, otherwise I would care no more.
