    Looks like this is an issue due to having the alchemy table on the ship, confirmed by other players. We'll look into it!

    If you have a horse, kill it, that should bring everything back to normal (it's a temporary solution).

    Did you at least manage to keep all your items in the inventory?

    So you start with a character, you die, it's the same character. But when you quit the game and run the game again the character changes. Is that correct?     Are you playing in 1st person view? If so, that's a known bug. Playing in 3rd person view should show the proper hints.
